But every county board is different. In Dublin and Westmeath for example there is no parish rule. So basically anyone in Westmeath can play for Lomans and anyone in Dublin can play for Ballyboden GAA for example. How is that fair??
I think that's fair enough in each county championship. If that's what your county has decided then fair ball. But why should the rest of the clubs in a Leinster campaign suffer. I get this is a separate issue in ways, but that being said the same principle applies. If you want to have 4/5 All star clubs in your county championship, then thats your county boards decision and let ye play out yer championship. But once ye get into Leinster a player JUST HAS TO be committed for atleast 3 years in my opinion.
In your case, you could play in your Roscommon championship, but if ye won the Roscommon, you couldn't play in Connaght until you've done the 3 years. It's just fairness Kevin, and it's lacking big time in the provincial club campaigns at the minute.
Dublin with no parish rule is ridiculous. It's like soccer up there, just okay to play for any club reasonbly nearby. Was talking to a lad who plays for one of the massive dual clubs and he said alot of the younger players start off playing underage at one club and if they're good they'll move onto the bigger one. Normal in Dublin but completely alien to county like Offaly

Definitely could make a difference. Particularly in Dublin.
this the same wolly who left a brilliant portlaoise team for parnells gold in 2009 to come back in 2011 with his tail between his legs. he missed out on portlaoise leinster win in 2009 after.

Just because you don't agree with what he did as a player, it doesn't mean he's automatically wrong here. In fact, they are two completely different things and have little bearing on each other. It's a good idea.

I’m not sure it’s a great idea, especially for someone who has transferred to a club for genuine reasons. The majority of people live and work in Dublin and it’s surrounding counties, so big Dublin clubs were always going to benefit from transfers in. It’s more of a demographics issue which is having a knock on effect on the GAA. I don’t think it’s fair to punish a player for playing with his new club if they happen to be successful. Players transferring for other non-genuine reasons, such as the club being too small for them, is an entirely separate issue.

Likely to be the case then that we continue to hand over the Leinster Club titles to Dublin teams so.

Plenty of clubs in Offaly have bent the rules to accommodate outside players or players not living within their catchment area in the past.
Wasn't to many giving out before Saturday's game but now it's a problem because a big club like Tullamore, with a huge pick, got well bet by an even bigger club in Ballyboden with an even bigger pick.

You won’t find anybody from Tullamore using that as an excuse that Ballyboden had outside players. A lot of clubs have players from outside there club who have settled in their area and long may that continue.
We lost because we had a malfunction in a few areas and we didn’t react well to conceding the goal and losing John Furlong . Ballyboden exposed a few weaknesses that are got away with in the Offaly championship but once you go up a few levels those weaknesses get exposed
Tullamore need a few players back in Nigel Bracken Luke Egan Mike Feeney Aaron Hensey to replace Cillian Bourke and Ease the load on Brazil hogan etc and I believe all will be back on board next year.
It’s not all doom and gloom.
As for Kevin Corrigan speaking about the clubs AGM in a match report nothing surprises me with him not the place for it .

Did not mean to imply that Tullamore were using this as an excuse. They definitely were not but some on this thread want to change the rules around an outsider playing for a different club after Saturday's game.
As you said, Tullamore had an off day and that can happen any team.

Ironic to see Tullamore unhappy with a club poaching others’ players.
I distinctly remember Tullamore pushing a motion in 2022 in an attempt to poach a few small clubs’ players…

no one said anything about tullamore poaching players on here at all?. one of the main reasons (in my opinion)tullamore are so dominant in offaly are their 2 big strong moblie midfielders. no other teams can match that. ballyboden could. and more with it.
