Pool Shark, I run a php discussion board the same as this one. I allow guests to post on my site and they riddled the site with posts on existing forums using the guest access. The only way I could stop them was to stop allowing guest postings.
Dunno if its exactly the same thing here due to the fact they have a user name but I wouldn't go rushing into giving him the domain name. Turning on the validation feature where the user has to type in the random generated code mightn't be a bad idea.
Reguar users should NOT click on the link for their own safety.

We have the same problem on our site
http://www.ballycumbergaa.com and even when we put in a rule to stop @ in names to hopefully stop these posters advertising links to commercial sites we still got spammers. In the end we decided to manually delete these spammers every few days or so. Its probably the easiest solution because there are a few members using the site who don't have recognisable names, arbarg is one that comes to mind.
