Coin Toss I suppose? Amazing how the three coin tosses favoured the ground with the larger attendences.

Portlaoise wins over Tullamore
Killarney wins over Longford
Galway wins over Mullingar,

and it's a thing of six to one, half dozen to another in the Fermanagh/Donegal case.

4 neutral venues, or 2 double headers would have been the thing here.

I'm still a fan of home and away, however I don't see why that can't be either incorporated into the draw, or else more on the basis of agreement.

For example, to bring Offaly and Laois supporters to somewhere like Thurles is just needless traffic and travelling - having it in one of the two home venues makes much more sense.

As it is there is a home and away arrangement in the Leinster Championship, and it's Laois's turn for a home fixture if I'm not mistaken. I'd have preferred to see us concede the home advantage under the proviso that the next meeting between the two is in Tullamore. Good spirit all round, and no danger of psychologically "losing" anything in terms of a coin toss.

It's a bit different in Longford's case, granted. Still, to take the gamble was probably worth it for them. They had no chance in a neutral venue any more than they do in Killarney - if they had got the rub of the green though .....

This is obviously all presuming that everything is above board - which let's face it, no-one is confident of.

Derby Treble!!!

If we beat Laois we'd have beaten three of our Leinster neighbours in one summer.

Laois beat Meath and so did Wexford so Meath wouldn't have much to say.

Too much to hope for???

I'd like to know whether or not there was a toss. I presume the home and away agreement with Laois was continued for this game. I wouldn't mind if it was although with the power Laois seem to have in the corridors of the Leinster Council, there's every chance the next meeting between the counties will be in Croke Park if, for example, their management didn't want to travel over to Tullamore.

All four qualifier games were toss of the coin according to RTE.
