The offaly underage teams, Under 14's, Under 15's & Under 16's were due to travel to the Leinster final tomorrow but they were told today that they're not going because the Offaly County Board has sold the tickets that were allocated to them to the Dublin County Board!!!
This kind of cruelty is just not on!!
Youth teams being disappointed & discouraged so Offaly County Board can profit!
It's an absolute disgrace!!!!
offaly underage teams not going to the final
............
& they only told them today that the kids are n ot goin so the chances of them getting tickets is extremely slim!!!

I'd like to hear more about this.
(1) I wasn't aware that underage teams were allocated tickets like this. Were they told this directly by a county board official, or was it a mentor or trainer promising something he wasn't in a position to deliver?
(2) I'm pretty sure Offaly didn't return any tickets. One way or another we certainly wouldn't "sell" them to the Dublin board - they're not ours to sell. That's like saying that a lotto slip belongs to the newsagent - he's just the channel. All revenue is Leinster Council money. So why would we "sell" tickets?

the kids were told by a county board offical, underage tems aften get brought to matches, the kids were told they were goin at training, they were even given new t-shirts to wear to it. they were told before their match on saturday that there were no tickets for then. the mentor who went in to collect the passes/tickets on saqturday morning was told by someone in the county board that they had been sold/ passed on!!
whatever happened i dont know but about 70 kids who were all set to go to the match & play for offaly u14, u15 & u16 teams, were all disappointed!
its just not on doing that to kids!!
