Any truth in the rumours about a few big name players getting dropped off the panel?

Shocking decision but not surprised at all if it is true. Anton Sullivan couldn't be more dedicated or work harder on his game and has given his life to it for last 15 years or so and was one of our best players under previous managements which in itself says a lot. He is still plenty good enough to start and has at least another 3 years as a senior footballer given the shape he is in. There may be a bit of a power struggle that has developed over last while and an easy way to solve it is to just get rid of anyone that either knows better or challenges someone's authority. From what was emanating from the camp last year, I am not surprised and we could see more like this in the months ahead and i am not sure we are moving in good direction. I don't like to say this given so much positivity that surrounded Hartes appointment, but if this is the way things are moving, then this new regime might not end well.

Any idea who the rest of the management team will be made up of. I believe last years S&C coach has stepped away.

Well don’t keep us all in suspense, who else has got the ol heave ho?

Might be no harm to have a bit of a clear out, when alls said and done. Lads have had a decent shot of it and the team as a whole hasn’t really progressed to any degree in quite a while. If all we’re going to do is thread water in division 3 , we may as well do it blooding in young lads as giving jerseys to lads that are there 6 7 8 years. Not saying that getting rid of Anton is right, but the job of the manager is to build and mould a squad to push on, if its perceived that thats best done with some new faces, then have at it. I’m sure Harte won’t want to sully his reputation by overseeing a county that casts out its best players, there’s surely some method to the madness.

I think you made some good points there PHB. We should be aiming for promotion out of Div 3, and trying out new players is a good idea.

Leinster draw done
Offaly playing Carlow or Meath in the quarters and likely Dublin in the semis

Is there any news on anyone else being added to the backroom staff with the senior team? Does anyone else think it's extraordinary that Declan is the only Offaly voice in there? Surely that has never been the case ever before. One voice from Offaly in terms of answering any questions Harte or Bree have on any players they have watched over the last few months.
I know Declan has a good grasp on most players in Offaly but his opinion from an inside perspective on a player can't be the only opinion, right?

On the Anton omission, I doubt we have heard the last of this. Player and club extremely disgruntled on how it was handled. A clean sheet is meant to be a clean sheet. If he isn't up to scratch after Xmas then so be it but he deserved that chance after all his service.

Three Shamrocks players and none from Rhode is a bit of a joke.

Why is it a bit of a joke?

Look at the reporter it's just his opinion an opinion that is pretty low level across most gaa.
