A total left field announcement.

The questions will surely come though as to how co-managers will work especially with two big egos... Interesting times lie ahead.

Great for Offaly football..how good can we be lads???
Surely every footballer will make themselves available to play under him.

Exactly right

Couldn’t have made any bigger statement of intent imo.
There can be no looking back in 10-20 years and wondering how good the u20 team of 2021 could have been at senior - they have their chance now to show it.

We can be a solid division 2 team that competes in the All Ireland series and/or wins a Tailteann Cup.

Sure is a majorly left field surprise. Could be great if players now all make themselves available. Can't say we are not trying to be ambitious.

Interesting though to know DKs real thoughts on it and how it'll work with them together. Obviously this is being imposed from on high and while it may be good move, it will be interesting to see how DK accepts this over a few years.

Surely it shakes things up though and will put a jolt through football scene in Offaly

Total left field appointment . But why not go the whole hog and give mickey Harte the job . Declan Kelly must have some sway to hold onto his job after the results he’s had .
To me it lacks conviction not giving mickey Harte the job fully. When 2 people are in charge the buck stops nowhere
With Kelly there a lot of players still won’t return or even be asked back in
Interesting times ahead

Joints managers.. a load of bollox. He’s like a bad smell. He can’t be got rid of. Mickey Harte was ran out of Derry after a year for taking a great Derry team backwards. Awful appointment.

Did you forget his time at Louth?

They're essentially saying DK isn't good enough to be manager but they also don't have the guts to sack him after one season.

Ger Brennan hasn’t done badly with them either. They have a good crop of players. DK will still influence who he thinks is and isn’t ā€œfrom good stockā€

100% correct

My first reaction is that I don’t like it. I don’t expect him to stick around Offaly for too long. He was going really well in Louth, but dumped them when a better offer came in. His ā€œbounceā€ in Derry fizzled out so badly that a good team disappeared.

We will have to see the players’ commitment reaction in time. We may have a ā€œbounceā€ too, but if it’s short-lived then we could be worse off.

Damn, have I become a grumpy old man.

Ger hasn't done badly with what Mickey left him.

Mickey took them over in Division 4, got them back to back promotions and then a third place finish in division 2 along with a first Leinster final appearance since 2010.

That's a seriously impressive record.
