Plenty of teams capable of lifting the cup. Should be a good championship

Always a decent championship. plenty of decent standard teams. Strange they left it with 11 teams and uneven groups? I think both carrig riverstown and shamrocks both gave a number of walkovers last year and with there being a junior C championship this year, those 2 should of been dropped to junior b and their 3rd teams (if entering a 3rd team) dropped to junior c. that would have left 2 even Junior A groups. teams awarding walkovers needs to be looked at and have consequences.

I was at that game. Kk by far the better team. It’s easy to see the club is on a high right now. Ciaran Slevin at 11 was very good. They ran well off the ball and got scored too easy at times. As for Crinkill they didn’t get going at all. Their midfield and forwards were very poor. They couldn’t win or keep much possession. Despite conceding 27 points their backs hurled reasonably well. Not much they could do about the ball coming back down on them non stop. Still all to play for in that group. Belmont with a big win over Birr. Birr lost all 3 now so their game against Tullamore will decide who play relegation final. More than likely will be against Shamrocks or Coolderry. Belmont Clodiagh Gaels and Kinnitty all level on 4 points. In the other group Kk are top on 6, Ballyskenach/Killavilla on 5, Brosna Gaels on 4 and Crinkill on 3.

Will there be relegation final with coolderry giving a walkover? Is it two walkovers and your gone?

If Coolderry haven’t pulled out of the championship, which i don’t think they have, there should be a relegation play off. But I’m not 100% certain on that

In group 1 it’s all to play for in the final round. Ballyskenach/Killavilla sit top with 7 points. They play Kk who are in 3rd on 6 points. Brosna Gaels in 2nd on 6 points play Crinkill who are 4th on 5points.

In group 2 Belmont are top on 6 points. They play Clodiagh Gaels who are 2nd on 5 points. Kinnitty are into the QF with 5 points and have played all their games. Tullamore take on Birr and the loser will play a relegation playoff against either Coolderry or Shamrocks

You’d hope for the sake of hurling in West Offaly and for Donal Shirley, that Brosna Gaels can win this out.

Any of the teams left in it are capable of winning it. My money would be on either Belmont or Kk but only if Kk don’t lose any to Senior B, especially Ciarán Slevin.
