Any chance you could put the word “club” in the title of the thread?

Brosna Gaels , Birr & Clodiagh Gaels look like they have pulled their Div 4 teams. Walkovers at junior level seems to be happening a lot lately. I know there is obviously reason for it but it’s not great championship prep for smaller clubs with only 1 team who use need these league games. It’s a pity.

The Division 2 semi finals went along expected lines tonight.

Clodiagh Gaels beat Drumcullen by 2 points. They will have to be concerned by their point scoring as they managed 4-11. And also the concession of 0-21 to a team who play in a championship tier below them is also a worrying stat.

For their part Drumcullen really need to get out of 3rd tier hurling in Offaly if they actually want to become somewhat relevant again.

In the other SF Carrig&Riverstown overcame Coolderry by 6 points and the final against an established Senior B team will be a good gauge of their progress.

Clodiagh Gaels to shade it for me.

Hurling League Final Details:

Division 1 Birr vs Belmont
Saturday July 6th at 6.30pm in Banagher

Division 2 Carrig & Riverstown vs Clodiagh Gaels
I haven’t seen a fixture for this game. As they are meeting in the first round of the championship I’m surmising that this game will double up as the Division 2 League Final.

Division 3: Kilcormac/Killoughey vs St Rynaghs
Tuesday July 9th at 7.30pm in Moystown

Divison 4: Ballyskenagh/Killavilla vs Kinnitty
Tuesday July 9th at 7.30pm in Coolderry

Congrats to Belmont, better team throughout. Thought Birr were very poor.

Really think Cathal Flynn would provide something different for senior intercounty hurlers, he's so agile, direct, pacey and has serious Drive and determination. Not bad for a score too.

Was at the game in banagher last night
Belmont deserved the win
Birr are in free fall can't see any improvement
In the long term neither.
Very sad to see there decline.

Whats the GDA situation like in birr? For a town of its size that only plays one code they should really be an awful lot better, could be scary hours for them once a few of the older heads drop off.

Improvements are been made but still work to do.
The standard of hurling in Offaly outside of kk is pretty even Birr are in that mix.
Played brilliant against rynaghs were poor last night but that has been the pattern with them for some years now.
