Senior Football Relegation.

Post by steeltown »

Lads does anyone know the format for relegation in the senior championship. Is it just the 2 teams who finish bottom of each group playing off against each other or is it 5th in gp1 v 6 th in gp2 and vice versa withthe 2 losing teams playing off. As it stands now it would be Fbane v Shamrocks, And Ballycumber v Tullamore.

It's bottom plays bottom in a straight final - whoever finishes fifth in the group just has their season ended.

In group one, any result other than a Tullamore win over Tubber will see the Blues into the relegation final. If Tullamore win and Ferbane get any kind of result against Erin Rovers, then Tubber are in the relegation battle, unless Ferbane lose to Rovers in which case it will be scoring difference to decide between the three clubs.

On the other side it's very simple. Win or draw and Ballycumber are safe, but if Shamrocks turn over Ballycumber then they save themselves. That's essentially a relegation semi final one way or another.
