Just to clarify this - Drumcullen's opposition is the Kevin's Hurling Club who draw their players from the South Inner City, Rathmines, Ranelagh etc., not St. Kevin's, who are a different club and are based in Tallaght.

Kevins (Dolphin's Barn) would have a good Banagher contingent.

BnMM, or anyone who know's the Dublin scene - how many Senior hurling clubs are in Dublin? What I'm really asking is - if Drumcullen are ranked 13th in Offaly (12 Senior clubs), where are Kevin's ranked? Dublin have a Senior A and a Senior B championship, haven't they?

There are 12 teams in Senior A and 12 in Senior B.

The Minor Hurling Final in November-what a disgrace. That championship has to be looked at for next year. One group of 8 teams is all good in theory but if the final isnt goiing to be on until November it`s a waste of time. Not going to improve underage hurling one iota.

True, but for the purposes of ranking, Ballyboden and Vincents have Senior A and Senior B teams - which would make Kevins 23rd I guess.

They won't be playing Kevins, as Kevins were threw out of championship after final for fielding illegal players, said to be from galway so Drumcullen play Thomas Davis, 'beaten' finalists instead.

I see that. There's a discussion about it on the Farmyard. Seems the players in question were members of another club who could hurl Minor for Kevins under permission as their own club didn't have a Minor team. Kevins however brought the pair of them on during the second half of the Intermediate final when they were behind.

Kinnityman your dead rite re the minor championship, only that it was not 1 group of 8 teams instead it was 2 groups of 5, with each team playing the teams in the OTHER group i.e 5 matches apeice. IT ended up a bit of a farce when 2 teams in group 1 beat all the teams in group 2 and still 1 of the only went to a q/f. I dont tink who ever cameup wity the plan for this years champ had a clue how it was going to pan out, and thats why the final is in november.

The Thomas Davis' club site is offering directions to Rath. It recommends going down the M7 to Mountrath then take that narrow road over the mountains. They'll be all day travelling

In fairness I'd feel pretty sympathetic there, to look at a road map you'd think that it was the way to go. I remember having to give a Dub directions to Mountbolus in advance of the minor championship match between Offaly and Dublin there a couple of years ago and I remember thinking that I honestly didn't know what was the best way to attack it. I ended up sending them through Tullamore just because it was the easiest to describe.

How did Rynaghs and Drumcullen fair out? Hopefully a bit more positive than what happened in Mullingar.
