Red by name, Red by nature....

Not an internal issue at the moment but one which could have huge reprecussions for the GAA and one with which we have had our own experience with in the past.
The Cork hurlers are outraged over their managerial setup, strike action is again a very real possibility. The rights, wrongs and fingerpointing are many in a situation such as this. It's a complex issue and one which could be discussed at length so why don't we get the ball rolling here. I have my own thoughts on the issue but in the interests of fairness I'll let somebody else go first...

Lets be honest here, who cares if they all retire or not, they have a manager, he's staying so they have a choice, either play with him or forget about it but don't be annoying the rest of the country, like who gives a damn, i know i don't.

To be honest I would love for them to go on strike, the county board saying "F*ck you so", holding open trials, getting the best 30 lads in the county that want to represent their county. Going out and win lose or draw thank them for their efforts. Keep this going year after year until these prima donas remember why they played GAA in the first place and ask to come back. And when they do ask, let them back, let them train and let them earn their place again.

That's what I'd love to see. I really hope it happens because it would put a curb on all this player power bullsh*t.

Surely Cork should consider possible alterations in their management selection process going forward.

In the meantime TheManFromFerbane certainly has the blueprint for what should be considered right now.

Full agreement here!

Yeah, gotta agree with you. It's interesting too that the lads making the most noise about McCarthy down in Cork are over the hill or pretty damn close to it. You wouldn't see the Kilkenny hurlers trying the same thing with Brian Cody..
