He hasn't been raising the white flag with every single strike,but for me its generally of an acceptable standard.
I think that he's under huge pressure as our designated free-taker [much like Niall Mc with the big ball],so that may or may not be contributing to the odd miss here and there.
It's his all round game that is of exceptional quality,so I won't be gettin on anybody's back here...

If ya check out the Deise forums you'll see that they are betwixt and between when it comes to Saturday's game - they are unsure of what to expect from us,would prefer to be playing a ''bigger team'' such as Cork so that they will be better prepared for a q/f agin' Wexford - this smacks of arrogance imo and this can only be beneficial for Uibh Fhaili.
Plus,I remember when we played 'em in a qualifier a few years ago down in Carlow and they were very comfortable at half-time,but were astounded when we came out in 2nd half and really put it to 'em.
There's a mentality within the denizens of Offaly like no other in the country,so we must be quietly confident of doing the business.
As an aside,I envisage a rip-roaring affair of high intensity hurling and raw passion...it should be a close-run affair either way.

Johnny Dooley he ain't, but I'll say this for the lad - he's got stones. He's nailed a few important ones when the pressure has been on and doesn't hide, which is good enough for me. I'd have no doubt that he's conscientious and would be putting in the practice so all in all I'd be happy to leave him at them for as long as he wants them.

I do sometimes get the feeling that he doesn't want the long range ones and his technique can wobble a little bit when trying to get that extra ten yards, so I'd be inclined to let Horan have a wallop from 60 metres or more, since he can use his natural stroke.

As an all round player, top class. Got rushed into the senior team when a county like Kilkenny or Cork could have bided their time and let him develop at under 21, but he could hold his own in any company now.
