Whats the problem i hear you say??

Bigger eejit is right, but no she is a bit of a looker in fairness. Serves me right for talking sport with the fairer s*x.
Surely Hocker you must know a few people over there by the Shannon who would jump on the Westmeath bandwagon if they were to win in Tullamore??

So long as turncoats like this shuffle off and live elsewhere, we'll be grand.
In a county like Offaly, under siege from all sides, there is no simply no room for weak minds!

I always found an inordinate amount of buffoons would head to the shmoke and play down their roots by saying they were from "outside dublin" as opposed to stating where they were simply from

There's a lot like that in modern Ireland, its to be frowned upon.....D4 accents *Shudder*
Its like these people are ashamed of where they come from, shame on them I say.

The wheel is turning though.
Now sheeple are realising that it is more hip to be from places like Offaly for example.
Look at the papers in the last few weeks since Mr Cowen swept to power.
All the newspaper supplements and write ups about Offaly and what a legendary place it is.
This is probably news to a many people brainwashed into believing that latte sipping, dort speaking, South Dublin luvvie duvvie-ism was what to aspire to.
Being from Offaly makes you part of an elite, identifiable group, different from the rest.
The trend for a long time has been towards the homogenised, D4-type society, now there is a sort of counter movement as sheeple realise that their individual identity has been diminished.
It struck me in recent weeks watching Celebrity Banisteoir and watching the corporations now clambering to be associated with the GAA. Things like community, identity are now being celebrated, rather than being dismissed as quaint and old fashioned as previously.

The best part is that these "celebrities" seem delighted to have discovered that fact there are communities out there!!! What a complete shock to us all.
And then sing their praises, before scuttling back to Renards or Lillies.
But it is a fair point overall.
But of course people have always wanted to be from Offaly, we are just some of the chosen few.
