You got an issue to express and want me to answer questions heres your chance.

I would ask everyone to not comment on this for the moment. This lad has a problem with me so now i am giving him his opportunity to show the whole forum what he knows.

Answer your questions? Lets take this step by step so.

Question 1
You said Tom Cribbins was sucessfull in training two teams in 2001. He wasnt Edenderry yes won the Offaly championship but Kildare minors lost comprehensively in the semi final to Dublin by 6 points after they had beaten Meath and Wicklow. So therefore it wasnt a success?

Question 2

I quote you
the make up of that Kildare under 21 team was substantially different to the one that was under Cribbin's tutelage in 2001.That is a fact.
Substantially = Considerably, Significantly, Largely, To a large extent.

The following players played on the minor teams of 2001 and the U-21 teams of 2004

M.Hogarty – Corner Back U-21 – Corner Back Minor
R.McCabe – Full Back U-21 – Full Back Minor
A McLoughlin – Corner Back U-21 – Centre Back Minor
M Foley – Centre Back U-21 – Full Back Minor
F Hanniffy - Sub U-21 - Midfield Minor
J Lonergan – Wing Back U-21 – Wing Back Minor
W Heffernan – Midfield U-21 – Midfield Minor
D McCormack – Wing Forward U-21 – Full Forward Minor
H Lynch – Wing Forward U-21 –Sub Minor
E McCormack – Sub U-21 – Corner Forward Minor
M Cocoman - Sub U-21 - Sub Minor

So therefore what you said is wrong. Yes?

You must be on acid....plus it demeans the board as well as dragging it into Hogansh*te.com territory..but anyways.

Question 1
I placed this point on the other thread in response to a question placed by another board member. You were harping on that it is unfeasible to manage two teams effectively.I was illustrating that it wasnt the first time that it had been done. The second part of your question deals with quantifying success.Certainly, not getting to a Leinster final and winning it would be deemed a failure in Offaly. However in Kildare(which i live very close to) the scenario is different. When a Kildare Minor team gets 2 tough championship games against Meath & wicklow and wins them, before eventually losing to the eventual Leinster Champions and All Ireland Finalists by 6 points this would be deemed good progress for a Minor side in Kildare. Incidentally, that same Dublin team hockeyed Offaly 1-17 to 0-06 in the Leinster Final. Furthermore, Kildare only beat Dublin after a replay in 2004 by 1 point (13 points to 12 if memory serves me correctly)

These stats show that there was very little between the teams. So the kernal of my point is that Tom cribbin's tenure in charge of Kildare Minor's would have been viewed as a success. Maybe not by you but shure as we all know its hard to keep you happy.

Question 2
From my count I can see that there was 7 players playing on the under 21 team that had played on the Minor team as well, albeit in different positions in some cases. That is about half the team so i consider that to a substantial difference. Maybe you dont.

I dont know you personally so I dont have a problem with you per se, but what i have a problem with is your constant backbiting style of rhetoric and I believe I am not alone in this assertion.

This process you have instigated is childish and I once again apologise to the regulars on this board, including Lone Shark and the other founders of the site. The reason this board was set up was to give a forum to SUPPORTERS of Offaly GAA and a chance to air their opinions in a mature and coherent manner. What you have initiated in this thread is not in keeping with the spirit and ethos of this forum and only serves to highlight your juvenile mindset.

Again you wont just stay on the gaa issues.
If you have a look back at the posts the last few days it is you and only you talking personal and general non gaa waffle.

Back to the discussion.
10 players that were part of his panel in 2001 played a part in Kildare winning the Leinster u-21 championship in 2004. This does not include panel members that didnt play.
To me that is substantial.

Now again for Kildare (Last minor 1991) to beat Meath who havent won a Leinster MFC since 1993 and Wicklow who havent won one since 1974. And then lose to Dublin comprehensively by 6 points that is regarded as a success. Well then you are easily pleased.

The reason the board was setup was to talk about GAA matters in Offaly and Ireland. And allow guys to give their views. Not to try to slag lads off personally like you are doing lately.

So do everyone a favour, stick to the GAA matters at hand.

To me that is substantial.
Well thats your opinion. i have mine.
Well then you are easily pleased.
Where are you gettin this notion from??

If you had bothered to read my post properly you would see that the GAA mindset in Kildare would have viewed that campaign as been beneficial to their minor side.

I couldnt give 2 hoots if they never won a match.
