Gym Membership

I see from the Offaly accounts printed in the Midland Tribune that the footballers had over 2k spent on gym membership while the hurling figure was 500. Now, aren't all players entitled to gym membership being paid for them? If this is the case, why in the name of Jaysus, is the hurling figure so low.

What gym are the hurlers in?
Is it the one in the County Arms?
It all depends what of rate the gym people give.
If the rates are that low, then surely more gym work can be done this winter.
Offaly teams in both codes need better physical conditioning.
There's no use saving a couple of thousand on winter gym costs if your teams are getting pushed around and don't last the pace in championship.

It certainly was fairly obvious this summer that we are way off having the power required to compete. Watching Seán Óg brush off Gary Hanniffy - supposedly one of our bigger players - down in Cork was nothing short of sobering, while the footballers seemed utterly unable to take the ball into contact at all. (Not that you should be as a policy, but that's neither here nor there)
Either way you would assume that it would be addressed over the winter. Possibly the hurlers spent less time in the gym than the footballers did deliberately? I'm not saying it was a good idea, but those with more of a physical training background might have some idea.
