I'd be careful about making those kind of statements.
Especially if you haven't seen it with your own eyes.
Even at that, unless you're counting the drinks, you can't be sure someone has had, or what it is they are drinking either.

I know, I know.
But my informant is totally reliable and Offaly to the core so he wouldnt throw out something like that unless it was true.

as for the amount of liquor consumed, One is too many two nights before a championship game. Id bet Aidan Fogarty or Martin Comerford werent out scooping.
Id like to think it wasnt true but then again....

Allez

I didn't hear that but I heard there was 4 or 5 of the footballers in CFJ on a Tuesday night 2 weeks ago.

You "heard"??

Lads, you'd wanna be fairly sure about saying things like that on this forum. Word can get around very easily and it may not be even true, hence giving the playing in question a poor reputation.

And if he was what would the crime be? He is playing an amateur game, and getting nothing for it only what he puts into it. What call do any of us have on him to say what he can and can't do?

this post should be deleted straight away and stop spreading rumours unless you know 100% that they are correct

None - he'd have no apologies to make to anyone in the crowd or on this forum, but equally much like the player who is doing his team-mates and management a dis-service by not revealing the niggly ankle injury that has them playing at 70%, he'd be letting down both the managers who plan around him being fully fit, or the subs who possibly would be a better option if he's not well (in the Irish sense of the word....)

For the record, I'm not in agreement at all with the "totalitarian" approach to not drinking taken by supporters and trainers in this day and age - even if some of the footballers were in Coppers a few weeks ago, then (1) they're only there because they can't have a few jars at home without somebody exaggerating it into "Player X was locked and was throwing up on the street" and (2) not to put too fine a point about it, Coppers is not really about the drink. It's been an "outlet" for rural young lads since time immemorial, and long may that continue.

However, and let's be clear here that neither probably happened, but there is a big difference between having a few jars and a keen eye for the yungwans two weeks before a game and having a skinful 36 hours before a game. Nobody engaging in the latter is committing a crime, but to say that it wouldn't have an effect on your game is equally off the mark. But thankfully it didn't occur, so no harm done.

no player in any county would have a topic like that up on any other forum. if it was it would be deleted straightaway.
just some eegit trying to stirr things, which he has achieved.
and is proud of that.

Kofi Annan may have some spare time on his hands.

LS, you might want to fire off a mail to him and offer him an honorary membership or perhaps even presidency for Uibhfhaili.com.

God knows his services are needed on this forum of late!

Maybe similar to some other eegit accusing all "football supporters" of leaving early??

My apologies to my fellow forumists If any took offence at my topic.
all i was attempting was to clear up something i had been informed of, which was done in quick fashion by our esteemed Kinnityman.
This is an open Forum and encourages discussion.
This was in no way an attemt to "stir things up" as some people seem to be of the opinion.

My sincerest apologies also to joe Bergin, for bringing up this topic.

While im at it, I think I should apologise for the Famine as well and for the recent election.

Allez Les Faithful!!
