Couldn't go, was stuck working today, but I see the lads won by two, 2-8 to 0-12. Still no indication that they are world beaters, but continuing the admirable trend of recent Offaly minor teams of digging in and winning the tight games.
Dublin and Laois drew after extra time today, I'd say right now with Carlow and Louth in the other semi, the winners of that game are long odds on.
Minors scraped past Longford today

Game was spoiled by the ref. Sent 5 players off in what wasn't a dirty game. He must have been proud of his black book as he felt it necessary to show it to every player on the Offaly team.
Offaly played most of the second half with 13 men and it is to their credit that they ploughed ahead with the task at hand and secured a hard fought victory. The two offaly sendings off were both for second yellows and both could be viewed as harsh. Leading by 4 points their grip of the game at midfield (due to the sending off) slipped and Longford levelled the game.
Young Anton Sullivan then showed well for the ball and played in Kelly (I think) for a great goal. Daniel Currams who was excellent throughout then came into the game around the center and Offaly held on for victory.
There are some fine footballers on the team but as with recent minor teams there is a sense of over achieving at times. This is an admirable trait tough and if a more talented senior team in the last few years could show a similar level of resilience there could have been a Leinster title their.
Having said that they are a better team than Longford and they'll have a tougher test in the next game. Good luck to them.
