Offaly Senior Inter County Hurling 2012
Re: Offaly Senior Inter County Hurling 2012
it's a open panel i thought Joe Dooley brought in Birrs Mark Quilvian and a few more after the league finish last year
i see no problem in bring in players to have a look connor Hernon is a good hurler and done well under Dooley in his first year at Corner back.

Playing Kilkenny in Clara on Sunday fortnight, the 20th May. That's Clara in Offaly, now, not Clara in Kilkenny!

Cheers Johnno. I always wondered is their a reason why information surrounding intercounty challenge games is virtually kept secret. I wouldn't mind seeing either county team in action but there is never any notice of the games given. I know that POTH mentioned the game in Clara but its rare enough to find info on the games. Should the county board website not be advertising these games. Won't get the dinner ate and out to O'Connor park for 7 this evening I'm afraid

Limerick are a noteable exception to this, which is why the Offaly lineout for the recent challenge match against Limerick was published. Then again, everything Limerick do is done in the full glare of the media. And I mean 'everything'.

No, Kinnittyman, you list the full-back line first before listing the half-backs!!

Re: Offaly Senior Inter County Hurling 2012
OK, let’s pick a better team from the exact same fifteen that lined out tonight as listed by Kinnityman. Kinnittyman, I hope you don’t think I’m slagging you here, because I’m not. I’ve no doubt that’s the team as lined out. Hopefully the management got wind there were Wexford spies lurking, because that team is a joke, pure and simple.
Dempsey, Franks, Kenny, Hernon; Harding, Rigney, Morkan; B Carroll, K Brady; Parlon J Brady, T Carroll; Dooley, Bergin, Ryan.

The team photo from that challenge match against Tipperary in in the programme from yesterday evening's U21 Final. Paul Cleary is pictured wearing 3.

Re: Offaly Senior Inter County Hurling 2012
Two and a half weeks to Leinster Quarter Final and I'd say Ollie and the lads are a mile off knowing their ideal first 15 for the game. That was going to be one of the draw backs of the new league system. It's actually fairly difficult to name 13 or 14 guys who are guaranteed to start.
These are the guys who I think are nailed on to start:
James Dempsey, David Franks, David Kenny, James Rigney, Brendan Murphy, Diarmuid Horan, Cathal Parlon, Joe Begin, Shane Dooley. I left Rory off due to the injury. For anyone not on that list it's possible to make a fairly good argument against them starting on June 2nd. I don't think any of the above can be left off. Franks would be the only one I would have reservations about but options at corner back are thin on the ground. If anyone was in Lusmagh Sunday night for Kinnitty vs Seir Kieran they would have seen why James Rigney HAS to hurl in the half back line for Offaly.
What is a definite is that all the panel could have eyes on a starting spot!!
Anyone called in due to their performances at the weekend??
