Sorry for blowing our own trumpet here...but nice to see Birr win the Féile.. finally they seem to have found a really good team who could be finds for the county in for 4 or 5 years.

Was this the division 2 feile?
Wouldn’t pretend to know much about it, is it generally a decent enough level to compete at? Would these players be coming into tony forrestal tournament territory?

Well done to Birr, and another positive sign.

It was Div 2 FEILE.

I know Birr have won 5 I seen it posted on social media all Divison 2.

Has an offaly team ever won a Div 1 ?

I know a few teams contested finals and the suggestion would be there wouldn't be much between the divisions when it gets down to nitty gritty end of the tournament.

Clara won a Div 4, maybe 5 years ago? Conor Doyle, Barry egan were on that team. Think it was played in galway.

We better not be about to lose Leo O'Connor.

https://www.limerickleader.ie/news/hurl ... -level.htm

When asked about the future..................

“I actually don't know, obviously I'm appointed for a three year term with the U20's. I'm officially Offaly U20 hurling manager next year. Our goal was when I sat down with Michael Duignan that we would win an All-Ireland. I certainly think it's a major challenge next year. I'd love to manage at senior level. It's something that I cannot say that I wouldn't want. That's for another to be quite honest and lets see what happens."

With football in the county in an absolute mess the county board better not feck this up as well. We need Leo O'Connor onboard so you'd hope theres a plan in place here but I'd take nothing for granted given the way the football has gone.

Was that taken from the OTB hurling pod road show he was at with will o Callaghan last week ? Sorry that link is broke for me.

From listening I thought he was saying he was doing next year with Offaly again and then was " open" to senior level management after that

If Leo o Connor goes you can't really blame the county board.. his mission with offaly was to further his reputation and up his value and his appeal as a manager, he's done that and you'd expect that there will be a senior job on offer for next year and not much we can do about it.. hed hardly too bothered how offaly go next year, hes a limerick man and would we be any different in his shoes.. if limerick do the 5 in a row will kiely call it a day and Leo be in the running for it? Its a possibility?!

Absolutely zero chance leo gets the Limerick gig. Zero. He'll do the u20s again and then I assume Johnny Kelly steps down after offaly 1 year in liam mcarthy. Then Leo will be offered the senior gig. Westmeath or laois could snap him up. Vacancy there in Westmeath

It would be great if he stayed on, I don't see him taking the westmeath gig, they've gone back although if he was to win a Mcdonagh cup with them and bring them back it would do his CV no harm

No surprise Leo wants to move on after this group of players finish U20.

He didn’t want to stay with the minors after they left that grade either.

I wonder why?

Just touching on something

If he's passionate about hurling and wants to see offaly getting back to the top again we'll then in my view that's where he should be

Stepping down to join some other county just to be senoir manager isn't really what I'd call passionate

I'd be disappointed to see him go just to get to senior I think he can do more good with Offaly if he stays involved
