Belmont while it wasn’t a flawless win they really got stuck in everywhere around the field ,
Bigger tests ahead, they will need more of a return from the full forward line
Colin Egan was in top form brilliant too see his younger brother Adam showing some of the traits too

Joey o Connor had a great game for rynaghs still think he could make an impression on the Offaly panel , quirke once a starter for Offaly now not even a starter for rynaghs (not unless he’s carrying a Knock ?)

Connor Clancy shows true class committed club man owes nothing to the club but still travels from Louth fantastic keeper

You are possibly mixing up the 2 Quirkes. Stephen who has hurled for Offaly (was an excellent underage Offaly hurler actually particularly at under 21) started last night wearing 14. His brother Paul wasn’t named on the squad at all.

Ryanghs potentially struggling going forward too.
Belmont has the town of Ferbane which has to be a help despite the protestations that there’s no hurling there.
I think about 5 from Ferbane starting for Belmont last night and 1 from Shannonbridge

If you think Joey O’Connor at 32 could make an impression on an intercounty panel, then I don’t know what you are watching

The first 5 are all from the same family tree. Take that away and you would have virtually no Ferbane representation.

Senior B championship
Carrig bet kk.
Clara with two wins.
Lusma with 2 wins also.
The impact of kk seniors been down men being felt as both senior b and junior A losing.

Kinnitty and Clareen just don’t have the numbers unfortunately for them. It’s probably undervalued in both clubs how well they are doing just to be hurling Senior A.

All they have to do is look at Drumcullen to see what could happen if they don’t stay plugging away.
I agree with this. Both clubs doing very well to be senior A but it must get wearying every year just hoping for a win or two to fight off relegation. Relegation to senior B where you can be competitive would nearly be a relief.

I still believe the format a few years ago of an 8 team senior A all in one group was the best, most competitive championship format we have had.

Take one of the main family trees out of any club and you’d fairly decimate it alright

I actually do I’m watching the player playing well , yesterday he showed pace ,skill and took some great scores why would age be a reason not to be on a senior hurling squad if your fit

Tj ried is 37 now don’t come back with an answer that’s tj ried is playing for kk and standard’s are higher.

Your response :if he’s 32 years of age he shouldn’t be on an inter county panel ?
Your judgement was on age not ability.

Would you yeah?

Would it be the same for say KK?

One family would remove an entire town’s representation?

Would some of the ‘great scores’ that he took be included in the 1 point that he got?

The 1 pint included , my point age shouldn’t stop a player from joining up with the inter county squad if he’s playing well enough.
