Challenge matches aren't widely shared and are normally kept under wraps.

I know clubber were to have a couple of hurling challenges but I doubt ther'd be too many queing up to watch them.

The paranoia in the GAA around the opposition knowing how many backwards passes you complete leads to very little details being shared.
Offaly are playing Sligo in the league in a couple of weeks and that will give us a steer of where we are going.
Enjoy the break until then.

Heard they are playing challenge game v Wexford either this weekend or next weekend.

On another note, heard there are a good few senior players from last year not involved with squad for variety of reasons and if they no longer don the jersey again, best wishes to Eoin Carroll, Peter Cunningham, Anton Sullivan and Declan Hogan. Not sure if Chubby involved this year either and may have missed somebody. All have given sterling service to the county for many years and deserve credit and recognition for it. It isnt easy to be giving so much of your time with little success and it often goes thankless, particularly after disappointing defeats and the scrutiny that goes with them. It may not be the end for some and I hope it isn't and some could appear again in the future but if it does happen to be the end, thanks very much to all for the efforts over the years....

Getting it hard to get achilles problem sorted so has stepped away for now anyway apparantly.

Beaten by 7 or 8 points against Down. Not sure how strong Down were. Offaly missing Furlong Bryant and Hyland on the day.

Offaly at more or less full strength then apart from Hyland

John Furlong would be also one of the best in the county at the moment.

Bit of a low blow there Pigeon House.

Anyone who’s watched Offaly club football will know that John Furlong is a fantastic footballer.

As is Jack Bryant, who just needs to show it more consistently.

Second this, Furlong already quite clearly one of the very best footballers in the county and will be one of, if not the most important player of the next decade.

Beaten by 2 points. Very poor performance. Wexford could have scored 5 or 6 goals in the first 2 quarters (scored 2 )
Lost 80% of long kick outs. Had 25/30 turnovers under no pressure

a lot of turnover in the squad since Kelly took over , had a look at the meath win two year ago and 12 players who featured that day aren't in there now

the squad needed changes or we'd be in div 3 forever with that group, it's up to the new players now to become leaders and step up the standards

He's from Castleknock. Can't make his club team regularly but good enough to play for Offaly?? I'm sure there are a few better forwards in Offaly that DK has dismissed to Harte for one reason or another.
