What happened Edenderry in this match?, maybe True Red can let us know. Also Ciaran McManus was badly managed by previous Offaly managers, look at Tony Browne with Waterford.DAF wrote:Offaly Senior Football Championship
Tubber 1-11 Edenderry 0-7
Edenderry didnt look like a team who were reigning county champions.Tubber were better than them throughout and pulled away in the last 15 minutes.Luckily there was more than 3 points in as Edenderry looked to have had a legitmate goal disallowed.Ball spilled out of the Tubber goalies hands and fell over the line but the goal wasnt given.Ciaran McManus was the best player on show, his free taking was excellent and he dominated midfield. He's still be good enough for Offaly regardless of his age.

Is the draw normally made after the quarter finals are played or before?
One of their players (i'm not going to name him) completely lost his discipline towards the end of the match and stormed off the field in a huff after being sustituted. Not a good sign if you ask me.offaly2012 wrote:Edenderry Manager Peter Brady said in an interview he was very unhappy with performance that the young lads were not pulling together the last couple of weeks . wonder what going on??
they played a couple of challenges and were bet well by carbury and mullingar shamrocks
i think thats alot of the problems in offaly football at the moment, an young and up coming team like Gracefield been miles behind claraAbercrombie Fitch wrote:Clara 1-13 Gracefield 1-07.
The scoreline suggests a somewhat even game but the truth is these teams are operating at totally different levels. Clara hit the woodwork on 3 occasions going for goals and realistically should have raised at least 5 green flags.
The impression on the terrace between both sets of fans was that Clara were just doing enough and if Gracefield moved up a gear Clara had the ability to do so too.
With John Ledwith at 6 it frees up Matt Mitchell to play a roving game from centre forward. This seems to be difficult to counteract as a centre back is unlikely to follow him and be dragged out of position.
Alan Cronin is back on the team after a few years on the fringes and is going very well as are Thomas and Stephen Deehan. With John Reynolds and Joe Quinn still to come back into the team Clara will be happy with where they are at this stage of the year.
13 out of the starting 15 for clara against gracefield were in there 20's.... not a team that i would call "past there sell by date"townman wrote:i think thats alot of the problems in offaly football at the moment, an young and up coming team like Gracefield been miles behind claraAbercrombie Fitch wrote:Clara 1-13 Gracefield 1-07.

a clara team who have been around a good bit, and lets be fair have nothing to give to the county team as lads you have named
were all there before.
thats not Claras fault and they will be looking to win the club championship in offaly this year and best of luck to them.
but when you have a young side like Gracefield who haven't won the senior since 1984, and are miles behind a clara side
who most have a lot of football behind them. its not good, and its not just the football, i have seen some club hurling this
year and the same is going on there younger hurlers getting beaten by teams that have lads well past there sell bye date.
my point is most have played with offaly from minor under 21 and senior, i didn' say they were past there sell by date of course most will playoffalyman18 wrote:13 out of the starting 15 for clara against gracefield were in there 20's.... not a team that i would call "past there sell by date"townman wrote:i think thats alot of the problems in offaly football at the moment, an young and up coming team like Gracefield been miles behind claraAbercrombie Fitch wrote:Clara 1-13 Gracefield 1-07.
