Junior A Football
Re: Junior A Football
Group 1 is not decided yet either. If Killeigh win their last 2 games, they will top group 1 with Ferbane in their last game. If the get over Edenderry and beat Ferbane they will top it on a head to head with Ferbane. Will Ballycommon put it up to K/K, if they win they will be in a quarter final as I cant see K/K beating Cappincur in their final game.
I would no rule out Ballycumber, they have 3 points and a win against a stuttering Daingean would place them in a great position to make the quarters. Any one that knows anything about the betting odds, post your suggestions. I have no idea how it works but I would have Cappincur well up there.

Re: Junior A Football
Have got a text to the effect that we're playing Kinnitty next Sunday at lunchtime in Cloghan in a semi final - that must be the case.kingscounty wrote:i heard the junior b football quarter finals have been scrapped, the semi finals are next weekend, did anyone here this.dont know if its true or not
Not sure how this could have happened though, it's news to us anyway and I would presume it's a shock to Tubber and Rynaghs who are the two teams now knocked out that would have gone through to quarters?
Kevin Egan. Signed out of respect for players and all involved with Offaly.
Re: Junior A Football
Yep Q-Finals are scrapped. So semi finals are Ferbane vs Kinnity and Rhode vs Durrow, Shouold be 2 good games.kingscounty wrote:i heard the junior b football quarter finals have been scrapped, the semi finals are next weekend, did anyone here this.dont know if its true or not

Re: Junior A Football
is it just the junior b football or is it all junior, hurling and football?
Re: Junior A Football
It is just the junior B football as far as I know. The Junior A football is definitely 4 quarter finals. Not sure on the hurling.is it just the junior b football or is it all junior, hurling and football?
Killeigh and Edenderry looks to be an interesting game in the Junior A this Friday night. Killeigh as a club in general seem to be flying it lately. Edenderry need to win this one to keep their hopes of getting out of the group alive. In the other group K/K and Ballycommon play and the winner would be strong favourite to take the last quarter final spot in that group

Mr. M_dempsey,
My personal taste should not really be part of the issue, so I'll refrain from answering that one.
My age should also not form part of the issue either. And considering you have absolutely no idea how old I am, how can you make the assumption that I'm too old for anything.
Maybe I'll meet you on the football field sometime, because I am a real man, and yes, I do play football.
I wont be hard to find, I stand out a mile. I never take to the field without my bow tie!
Who are you tipping to win the Junior, as a matter of interest? I hope your allegiance to Ballycommon has not clouded your judgement on this matter. Ballycommon are lucky that the Junior Championship this year is featuring teams like Shamrocks & Gracefield who have struggled to put numbers on the field so far, otherwise I suspect that Ballycommon would be heading back to the ranks of Junior B. Whats your opinion on this matter? You know how much I value your opinion!
Personally, I feel the winner of the championship will come from Group 2. Be it Cappincur, Clara or Daingean. I'm not forgetting Ferbane but I've heard that they may lose a few players to their Seniors (maybe they already have) and I think overall that the quality of teams in group 1 is a little poorer than in group 2.

Re: Junior A Football
Whats the predictions for the quarters lads. At least we can be sure there is quarter finals in this grade...
Mine Are
Clara v Ballinagar
Ferbane v Kilcormac/Killoughey
Tullamore v Daingean
Killeigh v Cappincur
One thing to note is the amount of clubs around a 10 mile radius of Tullamore still involved. Interesting times ahead.

Clara
Ferbane
Daingean
Cappincur
Winners alright! I'd find it difficult to separate these in the semi-finals.
But if you put a gun to my head and my Princeton scholarship on the line, I'd probably give Cappincur a hesitant nod based on the games I've seen them play so far. Theres a lot of football to be played yet though!

Re: Junior A Football
The Q/Fs are all fixed for Senior and Intermediate. The last round for the junior group stages is Wednesday night, does anybody know if indeed the Q/Fs will be the weekend aswell??
