maybe 42k cork fans is a bit optimistic? they are 1/16 to win. and they might be thinking they have a trip to croker v galway 2 weeks later? id say 30/32k max crowd. and then again maybe im wrong.!!

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
They may well be short, but there has been mania about this Cork team for a while now. Fellas I know who are long time regulars have been struggling to get tickets.
FOMO, herd mentality, the possibility of a sell out drives demand up.
Put a queue outside your night club and you'll pack the place out.
Take Offaly U20s two years ago in Kilkenny. If the word was that there was no capacity constraint and you could pay at the gate, there might have been less there.
Anyway, so long as we've taken enough tickets to make sure the last and least interested Offaly man still gets in, then we're good.

Tickets released seem to be down at the end of both stands. Will more be released or what way are they doing it ?

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
I can't say what tickets are being held back or not, but it is the standard Ticketmaster business model to release the worst tickets first, in order to get those sold and still have some good ones for sale later.
For the Connacht final, the only blocks for sale early on were standing tickets, and seats down the goal side of the 20m lines. Lo and behold, the better tickets came online on the week of the game.
Now I'm not certain that will happen here so insert all the disclaimers, but that is the standard Ticketmaster approach. The sooner we have that cancer out of our association, the better.

Kevin Egan. Signed out of respect for players and all involved with Offaly.

I really don’t think they will. This has been Cork fans experience the past two years. The only hope I have of them coming back is if Offaly return part of their allocation.Lone Shark wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2026 2:07 pm I can't say what tickets are being held back or not, but it is the standard Ticketmaster business model to release the worst tickets first, in order to get those sold and still have some good ones for sale later.

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
Clyda Rovers had up on Twitter that they received 48 tickets. I’d imagine each cork club gets the same?
I wonder is this the same for Offaly or would each Offaly club get more given there are significantly less clubs?
In other news, Offaly hurled Clare last night in Birr ‘behind closed doors’.
It must have set a record for attendance at a behind closed doors match, with 2-300 in attendance
I don’t think it will bother Offaly too much, but Brian Lohan was said to be enraged by the crowd in attendance.
TK and Stritch in midfield, McInerney centre back, Malone wing forward, O’Donnell in the corner

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
Ticket sales seem to have been brisk enough from the Offaly allocation.
But we will have returns from Ardan O Coinnean Block 210, Ardan O Riain Block 116 and the Killinan End Terrace. The Town End Terrace is kept for Cork.
A sell out now appears likely which I'm actually amazed by. But hey what an occasion to look forward to. Get down to Thurles early if you want a few pints!!

They played 3x25 minutes.frankthetank wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2026 3:19 pmHow did Offaly go? Any sort of selection issues?faithfulfanatic wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2026 3:04 pm Clyda Rovers had up on Twitter that they received 48 tickets. I’d imagine each cork club gets the same?

Dan Bourke, Ter Guinan or Ben Conneely didn’t hurl but all warmed up and looked ok.
James Mahon, Ruairi Kelly and Ciaran Cleary started in their place.
Clare led by about 3-9 to 9 after the first 25 minutes.
Game fell asunder then after that with both teams ringing changes.
Darragh Lohan and Adam Hogan took it in turns trying to get a belt at Screeney, led to a few rows in the first 25 minutes.

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
Classy stuff from the Clare lads. Some day they'll come to terms with 1998.
Being opened up for 3 goals in the first 25 minutes would be a concern particularly with the pace the Cork forwards have at their disposal.
A Cork championship team is a big step from anything we've faced in a long long time. I would say this is the highest quality team we've met since we played Kilkenny in 2018.

I know challenge matches are loose at the best of times but that’s a colossal score to concede.
