If you don't agree with someone, then by all means make your case and back it up.

As I've said before, POTH may have his opinions (don't we all), but his contribution to this site cannot be underestimated. See the Offaly Vs Kilkenny thread for an example of a preview that's second-to-none.

Suffice it to say that if Uibhfhaili.com was fielding a team, a 26 year old like yourself would be lined out at midfield because a yungfella like you would be needed where you could do all the hard running!!! Us ould lads are destroyed from too many four hour stints standing on concrete terraces....

Loneshark, is it really the '4 hour stints standing on concrete terraces' or the subsequent 8 hours standing (while doing other things naturally) in the pub???!!! Please excuse me if you are a non-drinker.

Thats totally uncall for!! Read thru all of the previews to each game that POTH has done, undoubtly the best you'll ever see for a long time!

He should be writing for a newspaper if he doesn't already.

I'm not really sure what this "party line" is, I have to say that if the site was an example of pasteurised homogenised debate before this I didn't notice it. The whole point of an internet forum is to get away from that, and in case anyone is any doubt, the fact that so far on the site we've booted out one individual, (that for posting p*rn) should say it all about our attitude to free speech and discussion.

Without wanting to get too much into the "ye're either fir us or agin us" kind of line, people were willing to debate a lot of these issues with Offaly's Future, and in actual fact there was widespread acknowledgement of the legitimacy of most of his points, if not agreement with regard to potential remedies. When things turned a little bit was when he started picking on individuals. (OF, you may contend that you didn't, but for one example, how many schools are there in Offaly with more than 1000 pupils? You don't fall short of naming names when you start at that craic)

I'll agree that POTH responses were a little tart, for want of a better phrase, but his knowledge of Offaly Hurling is unsurpassed on this site at least, and once the personal criticism began it was reasonable to expect that a few people mightn't appreciate it. I've no idea it POTH knows any of the people Offaly's Future singled out, but that's not the issue - the point is that he might, as might any other poster/reader on here. Equally I have to side with him in that Offaly's Future has hitherto ducked a lot of the practicality aspects, aspects which both myself and POTH have highlighted.

I've no doubt that POTH as well as myself plus anyone else who feels like it will welcome any further contribution from Offaly's Future that digs deeper into these issues, particularly ones that examine the nuts and bolts of turning idealistic solutions into practical ones - thus far the crucial hole in a lot of his suggestions.

Offalys future, we would love to have you join us on Sunday under the commentry box on the terrace. We promise you we won't beat you up or verbally intimidate you in any way, we really are a nice bunch of lads, the kind of boys any parent would love their daughter to marry and even though you sound like a guy who seems to think he is always right, we actually really do respect you're opinions, EVEN PLAIN OF THE HERBS.

As luck would have it......

Though no doubt the pub standing takes an equal toll if you're just drinking lucozade, so it could be a fair point!!

On paper that shouldn't be a Kilkenny team to be feared.
There's a good bit of inexperience there because of their injuries problems.
If that 15 playing against us were wearing Waterford jersies, we wouldn't fear them half as much.
