I'd back Edenderry - but they were terrible against Ferbane! Having said that perhaps Ferbane, for the second time (the first being the last 20 mins against Tullamore) in this year's championship, displayed their undoubted potential. It took two early goals to ignite the confidence that they have been illustrating in the league (ok Div 2 but 3 of the championship's quarterfinalists are there too, which means that although they won 14 out of 14 Ferbane will be underdogs in the league semis).
Doon - Vinny will be back playing without selection headaches to consider as they go to the club chairman, I believe. Must sort out defence but thats not new. How about Trevor as a defensive sweeper - possesses the brain and speed for the job and Doon need one.
The Bridge - could beat Doon but they're ageing fast- too fast and Browne received a straight red against Rynaghs so won't be available next weekend against the Reds. I think on the basis that the neighbours will be trying so hard to knock each other the Reds should sneak through.
Don't be surprised if it goes to a second series of round robin.
Senior Football Q-Finals and Relegation
Relegation dogfight...
Shannonbridge V Edenderry is fixed for this Sunday morning at 12:00 in Mucklagh.. i couldn't even hazard a guess as to what the outcome will be.. Edenderry will be marginal favourites i'd imagine? Which Edenderry will turn up? The one that beat Ballycumber in the opening round of matches or the one who got the livin shite beat out of them by Ferbane?
Anywho... Apparently the losers of that match play Doon the following weekend!
'Bridge heads are really down after the defeat by Rynaghs.. I feel though that they might scrape a draw against the reds, All depends on the day!

I can't see Vinny coming back now, he would have sprung himself against Gracefield if he felt he'd have made a difference...personally I think he should have played because what doon lacked against Gracefield was a target man like him on the full forward line.
I suppose these relegation matches are a pure lottery, Edenderry aren't as bad as they've been made look so far this year, Shannonbridge have enough of good experienced players to get them out of it & doon have enough in the forwards to trouble both teams.
If I had to put my money on 1 of these teams to avoid the drop I'd fancy Edenderry but like that its really only a guess!!!
