This years census lists "Tullamore urban" as having a population of jus under 11,000. In a county of some seventy thousand, that probably swings it. There's a seperate listing for "Tullamore rural."The Magpie wrote:Then it's just as well I'm only interested in our own County![]()
Surely somebody reading this forum has the answer to these questions:
1) Which club commands the greatest geographical area in the County?
2) Which club has the luxury of selecting from the most populated area in the County? Not necessarily the most densely populated area in the County - I'm sure that would be Tullamore (ignore the pun).
Note how few parishes there are east of Tullamore:- Edenderry, Rhode, Daingean, Killeigh-Raheen, St. Broughan's and North Portarlington. Must be one of them. I doubt it's a hurling club you're looking for, as there are quite a few covering roughly one third (the south) of the county.
Now that I think of it, Ferbane Belmont covers a considerable area from the Shannon to Boora. much of it it bog, though.
