Is this confirmed?? The hunt for new management will be an interesting one if all the post here are true about the two sister clubs relationship. Cant imagine anyone worth their salt would go into an unhappy marriage.

Ballinamere are a good hurling team, with a few Offaly players in their ranks.Terrible to see this situation develop over what may be a personality difference.

Simple solution , one manager over both durrow and ballinamere. Two separate mgt teams.

It's the job of the respective executive boards of the two clubs to make sure that the managers at the start of the year are well briefed in the parameters of their role and what is acceptable, and what isn't. It is for the executive to give the manager their job, to assign priorities - sometimes it'll be to win a championship, sometimes it'll be player development, sometimes it'll just be a year where the players enjoy themselves and that brings playing numbers back up.
And when you have a situation like you do in Ballinamere and Durrow, it's for the executive leaders in the two clubs to sit down and lay out a framework for how things will operate, and to keep communication channels open so that when situations arise like what happened with the Rhode versus Durrow fixture, then it's those executives who resolve it.
One manager for both teams would never work, as you want your manager to be single-minded in their aims. It's for the chair, secretary, treasurer etc. to think bigger.

Being single minded appears to be the problem here. That means to hell with everyone else, let's do what we need to do.

How would that work in reality? Durrow are the football team, Ballinamere are the hurling team.

It could work if people wanted it to work. At underage it's the same mgt that runs the ballinamere/durrow teams.? Jk brackens in tipp have same mgt running both teams. A number of Dublin clubs had same manager, different back room mgt.

Ah lads, you cant compare underage over kids with senior level. Where it may work elsewhere, you have a manager who likely has coached both sports and played as a dual player previously. He - or she needs to be knowledgeable and respected by both sets of players and knows both games very well. Dont know if anybody from within the Bal Durrow club who'd meet such requirements and if not, then it will be two separate managers of each club. Loughmore Castleiney is a good marker for Ballinamere Durrow - rural setting etc with good few county hurlers. They act in a way that is in best interest of players for both hurling AND football.
What is needed is a S&C coach who are common to both clubs that manages the load of players in both squads. Thats a no brainer and if they could agree to that then theyd be a long way on the road to functioning properly in both codes. Maybe a manager in one code that is in background for other code and vice versa for other code.
Agree this is one for exec of both clubs to agree and manage before any training commences next year and they should have over riding powers over any manager in any code that they bring in, that they MUST adhere to what is agreed by club executives in advance of any start.
Rigney to my knowledge is from Portlaoise club and would have played senior football for Portlaoise? If he is gone then thats a non runner but Durrow need to demand fair crack at it as senior football team if it is all going to work out.

Hurling supporters royally screwed over this year as usual when it comes to latter stage of championship.
Quarter finals on separate days
Semi Finals on seperate days (this really pisses me off. Of course the football semis are a double header)
No game on before final.
If a supporter wants to attend all games he has to pay out €74. €30 to see the senior semi finals alone which is absolutely ridiculous.
