Does anyone know what supplements Conor Mahon is taking these days?
He's put in what I believe are the best 2 seasons of his career at what 35/36, he's been phenomenal.
If he was 22 years of age he'd be an automatic starter for Offaly next year on the half forward line.
Feck it I'd ask him into the panel for this year only. Apart from Duignan, Offaly don't have this type of big awkward forward who is a handful. I think he'd be an addition to the panel. The Leinster Championship will be tough going and a decent panel is required not just 15 starters.
Thoughts?

I would absolutely have him back on the panel, work rate and attitude never questioned, not the best stick man but would definitely rattle a back line for 20-25 mins if needed.

Pretty confident this is not on the cards the man is 36 with a young family retired over 5 years ago.

Gate receipts from the 2024 county final were down 35% versus the 2023 county final.

€67,032 versus €43,870.

A big shortfall in anyone’s language.

I’d say its to do with a combo of the weather and the perceived foregone conclusion that the game was supposed to be

The weather was absolutely horrendous with matches called off all over the country. Go look back at social media posts on the morning of the game and Offaly GAA were getting an awful lot of abuse for confirming that the game was going ahead.

Not only had the weather a major influence but the season ticket holders would affect the figure too. I would say compared to 2023 this figure would be much higher.

The only thing about expenditure would be the increase in Offaly during 2024 to 1.37m from 1.16m. Apart from inflation there wouldn’t have been much difference between the 2 years. This compares to Clare who spent 1.56m, although this figure is higher they were in AI final hurling and a Munster final in football, they then lost 3 games in group stage.

The costs are going to get higher each year so expect the supporters to foot part of this bill.

Na Fianna demolishing Sarsfield at half time.

KK weren’t that far away at all from them.

I dont think you can quite say that. Loughrea did a better showing than kk. Sars lucky to be in the final at all. Slaughtneil had them too only for the last shot went over the bar and a clear red card was ignored

All I said was that KK weren’t far off Na Fianna, which is true. I agree that Loughrea were also close to them, as were St Martins.

By your line of reasoning, one could say that Na Fianna were lucky to be there, as Kilmacud threw away the county final.

But Na Fianna did win, as did Sarsfields against Feakle and Ballygunner and Slaughtneil.

Best club team in the country this year was Na Fianna, without a doubt.
Kilcormac have a young team and won’t be far off again next year.
