The speech is no big deal. The lad was understandably excited. He might have recovered his composure but then the rest of the team came up from the pitch, landed up on the podium, the celebrations really kicked off and that prematurely ended Cian's oratory.

100% agree. He is a 16 or 17 year old kid. Leave him alone. The speeches should not be televised for minor level. There was something similar a few years ago and I believe at the time that there was some form of protocol put in place that these minor speeches would not be televised. There is no need for it. The lads did brilliantly and Cian McNamee was inspiring on the field. Let them enjoy their success and stop this needless bitching.

Any news when and where the mayo game is? It's a new competition now I'm sure the boys be well tuned in. The few weeks break might be good for them. We look like we have peaked at the real right time. I hope the whole county gets behind these lads in the quarters as they did in leinster final.

Likewise on the captain's speech. I'd hate for a microphone to have recorded everything I said when I was 16, and I was never in a pressure environment the likes of that game on Monday.

Just as an aside, I see both the last 16 of the Tailteann Cup and the minor QF vs Mayo are down for June 7th. The seniors would be doing the minors a big favour by taking care of business against Laois next weekend, to make sure the crowd factor isn't diluted for the minors. Whether the game is in Roscommon or Longford, it'll be handy enough spin for a lot of people (for me in particular :P ) and it would be great to have another four or five thousand Offaly heads in to try and swing a few 50/50 calls our way and to carry the players through a few fallow periods.

If we had a home TC knockout game the same day, that would definitely split the crowd.

Delighted it’s in The Hyde. Easier to get there, stand alone fixture and most importantly it’s a fabulous pitch.

Best of luck to the lads on Sunday . Seems to be very little promo coming from the county board socials on this compared to previous yrs when the minors and 20s were going well

Clubs quiet also. Heard that Tullamore didn't send a bus to the final

Hard luck to lads today been a great adventure which to be honest after the first 2 games you would not have expected it.
Probably a bit nieve today but you can't have any complaints.
Let's hope they all have a good summer

Hard luck to the lads today, looked very tired. We probably used only 20 odd players all year so it was to be expected. Mayo were the better team but only just. There center forward who was named as number 7 and the corner forward had great games.. could of went either way love the fight them minors show. Great effort, we would all of taken this at start of the year
