Hurling 61 minutes vs Waterford in a meaningless game on a shite pitch didn’t do Ter Guinan much good clearly. FFS.

Was taking to diggy 2 weeks ago. He did the collarbone 5 weeks before that and he said the physio was saying he be out for about 10 weeks. So he should be back in 3 weeks time. Only heard about ter injury today so don't know the story with him

Laois 0-8
Galway 1-28
I know Laois made the final 3 years ago, but I don't think they've progressed anywhere near the same rate as their peers (as evidenced by the absolute shellacking they took in OCP last year).
Galway, as expected, are strong, but we already knew that.

With all these injuries and that scoreline today, Tuesday week looks a major challenge.
Re: Offaly U20 Hurlers 2025
Galway will always be strong at this age group we only drew with them last year. i suppose with offaly depending on a number who are in with senior side it was going to catch up with us this year. still think we will give galway a good rattle i wouldn't look to much into this evenings result laois are shocking poor and have gone way back from the minor final a few years ago.

A major challenge yes, but by no means an insurmountable one. Galway were impressive but they can’t be judged against a poor Laois side.
A loss in Galway Tuesday week would by no means be the end of the world, provided we could pick up a win against Laois. We’d find ourselves in the same position as last year and hopefully have some key players available for any potential knockout games.
Tickets just went on sale for the Galway Offaly game, and if ever the 16th man was needed for us, it’s this one. Let’s make it a home venue and as noisy as possible.

Duggan has a capacity of 3k, got my ticket already just to be sure.
5-6 weeks before the knockout begins but topping that group, getting a direct route to the semi finals and being on opposite sides of the draw with winner of other group will be advantageous.
For such a small county we must be the envy of many, from previous senior all irelands to a serious underage team that have won underage all irelands in recent years in both grades.

Re: Offaly U20 Hurlers 2025
If Galway turn out to be flat track bullies, they won't be the first team from there to hold that distinction.
But right now, I'd make them favourites to win in Ballinasloe. Offaly are playing for time. A good display and some other players taking on the scoring load are the kind of positives to hope for.
A loss may also dampen the expectation in Offaly, and this can also be a positive. Some of the programme flinger crew may disembark the wagon.

Will there be 3k at the match, takes time to build interest etc and it's a group game without any jeopardy. I was in Tullamore last year for the same fixture. What was the attendance that day.?

Aye. Shockin' the way 3,000 people could think of going to a match and ne'er a Munster team involved.
Pat Donegan. Signed out of respect for players and all involved with Offaly.

If it was on the Saturday I'm sure there would be in excess of 3k but it's moved to Tuesday? . A lot of people would find it difficult to go. Tuesday night would be a club training night from juvenile up to senior.

I’d imagine the majority of clubs will move training for itprivate joker wrote: ↑Sun Mar 30, 2025 2:13 pm If it was on the Saturday I'm sure there would be in excess of 3k but it's moved to Tuesday? . not a big deal to encourage people to go by moving a nights training. Ballinasloe is a stones throw away and should be 1500 willing to travel from Offaly.faithfulfanatic wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 9:09 amI’d imagine the majority of clubs will move training for itprivate joker wrote: ↑Sun Mar 30, 2025 2:13 pm If it was on the Saturday I'm sure there would be in excess of 3k but it's moved to Tuesday? . Re: Offaly U20 Hurlers 2025
Looking at the bigger picture a loss vs Galway will mean we will have to beat Kilkenny in Nowlan Park to get to the Leinster Final.
Which would then probably be vs Galway.
Personally I'd like to see Galway and Kilkenny remove on or the other, themselves if it all possible. If we win in Ballinasloe that is the scenario we are looking at. It's suddenly looking like a big game.

Taking our injured players out such as Rigney,Guinan, Hand and Screeney - anyone want to give our starting 15 a go here?
