Re: U20 club championship
Ive been told the losers are in a B competition
Re: U20 club championship
Losers go into a losers section but are rewarded by playing another losing team and the winner qualifies for a quarter final. St Vincent’s and Durrow played a meaningless first rd match yesterday as either way both teams qualified for a quarter final
This format makes the senior football format look normal . Was this even ran by clubs or was the format just concocted by the CCC
Tullamore are playing 4 u 20 games between Friday night and this Saturday absolutely ridiculous Clara not too far behind playing 3 in 7 days and will be out in the hurling this weekend again when they lose to Kk today.
Lads are also playing school matches at the moment it’s a recipe for disaster should have been straight knockout .
U 20 football trials and combined schools hurling trials also going on.

Killian Bourke played with his school on Wednesday, u20 football match Friday(played a half) Offaly senior football testing Saturday. U20 hurling match on Sunday and u20 football match this coming Thursday. I know the club is trying to manage his minutes but that’s a shocking schedule? 4 championship matches in 8 days.

Re: U20 club championship
Any idea of what the senior panel for next year is looking like if Bourke is one of the new lads being called in?

Sure who knows.. Declan K the only Offaly man involved. Is it true that no one wants to work with him?pigeon house biffo wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2024 6:30 pm Any idea of what the senior panel for next year is looking like if Bourke is one of the new lads being called in?
Can’t believe people don’t find it ridiculously strange that there is no selector from Offaly involved.

Re: U20 club championship
No one will keep it within single digits if they have their full team out.
I think K/K had 11 players either on the Offaly U20 panel or extended panel.
Also, Tullamore should be ashamed to lose a championship hurling march to Carrig&Riverstown and Crinkle by 30 points. That result is an absolute nonsense.

Re: U20 club championship
Carrig are probably the 2nd best made the final in the minor 3 years ago I believe. Cathal King an Offaly senior player also on their team. Still no excuse and overall a bad defeat

Re: U20 club championship
Don't know if tullamore were missing a few but they looked very poor. Crc looked handy enough and will probably beat a lot of teams bar kk who will win blindfolded the championship.
