He was home for the county semil again Birr he was listed on the sub's don't know if he went back to The State's .
yes it was his own choice but with the new manger in Baker will he come back ! or would he come back if his father Padraig got the gig ?
You hardly think that he was home and left on the line?
They put his name down for the programme in the hope that he would come home, but the lad is working out in San Francisco, its not as if it is new york with a 6 hour flight. San Francisco has to be at least 12 hours away

In fairness, New York isn't exactly a short hop away either.

a bit silly so putting his name on the programme, were the club paying for his ticket to come home if he did.

Right Townman.
Here’s a link to Diarmuid Horan’s publically accessible Linkedin profile
http://ie.linkedin.com/pub/diarmuid-horan/34/832/213
He’s working in SF since June 2011, like many of his age currently working abroad.
It’s obviously you know f&*k all about his personal circumstances but this doesn’t stop you taking a swipe at him from the back of a PC screen.
Time to finally put a sock in it.
Small-minded drivel out of you if you ask me.

look your the one talking drivel, i have said Horan should be back on the panel and is a big lost to the game in offaly
and looks theres no point talking sh.t we know what happen Horan when Joe Dooley has over them.
yes he is working SF fair enough but he hasn't hurl with offaly since the league of 2010 last game again kilkenny
and by the way durra 1 i don't give a flying fc.k where Horan is or his personal circumstances i just said he should be hurling
with offaly if he was around.
and i didn't take a swipe at him from the back of a pc screen this is a forum where you talk about GAA or players that could make the panel.

True , but it is a much more manageable distance to cover, and has been covered in the past by players who have found themselves working or studying over there for once off big games etc.

Jayz Durra 1 hardly a swipe at young Horan from Townman? I asked the questions about what his plans are, and he is a huge loss.
You seem to take great pride in taking swipes at lads here, and fair enough as I stuck my head up for chopping on the Duignan book. But forgive us less educated souls as yourself for our ignorance!

Fair enough lads I'll hang up the spurs for a while…
Sure what interest would Diarmuid Horan have in browsing an Offaly GAA supporters forum in SF ?
Sure he’d never read this …
and if he did … he’d have a grand chuckle to himself about some lad he never met suggesting that his return to the offaly panel might be dependent on whether his da would be appointed manager.

what additional players do we think should be brought into the fray for the county this season?
surely damien murray, trevor corcoran, eoin ryan and barry teehan need to be thrown in..
also brian watkins was impressive for birr.
one or two rynaghs lads deserve a shot after their improvement last summer..
young adrian hynes from clareen looks the real deal... big tall strong lad well able to field a ball.. knows where the posts are and handy on the frees too.. he is still u21 next i believe but being on the panel would do him no harm!

Daniel Hoctor must be worth consideration, no?
As for the four Coolderry lads mentioned, Trevor Corcoran has the makings of a doughty corner-back, especially with James Rigney gone. Damien Murray is too reliant on his right-side to operate at the top level. Eoin Ryan? Offaly are overburdened with right-handed left-sided attackers as it is (Dooley, Carroll, Currams) so competition for 10 and 13 is stiff. Ryan is deceptively good in the air, if he had a decent right he’d have an edge on those three, though Dooley remains the best freetaker available.
Cathal Parlon is the most interesting. Someone pointed out to me after the Leinster club final that one of his appealing features is his ability to turn in a tight space and, right enough, that’s how he created the goal out of what was barely a half-chance. If Parlon made a go of full-forward it would release Joseph Bergin to operate at centre-forward, and make a big impact there. Barry Teehan has a specific role as Coolderry’s centre half-forward. I’d have my doubts if you could get away with a decoy runner in that position at inter-county level.
Much will hinge on Alan Cunningham’s coaching influence. Offaly’s year will stand or fall on how he moulds a forward sextet to operate as a unit.
