Really not fair on any of the teams involved at all. Especially cruel, in this instance, on Na Fianna who seemingly played their hearts out with the expectation of securing the 3rd and final slot to qualify through. There are enough teams in Minor A to have quarter finals. The only time restriction I can see is college which does hamper teams at this level due to logistics for training and preparation.
Anyway......Semi-Final lineups:
St. Vincents v Edenderry
St. Broughans v Ferbane/Belmont

Also, the poor showing of Clara in this championship is very worrying. 2 walkovers conceded and 2 hammerings. You would expect this from a small club but surely a club like Clara can put up a better show than that?

good enough for st.vincents they were too cocky about this minor championship and thought all they had to do is wait and collect they trophy , being cocky will get you no where

Now that Edenderry are in the senior final and Dan Nolan is a starter on both teams, the minor final forming the undercard to the Senior final is no longer really a runner. Does anyone have any idea when the minor final will be played instead?
I have a wedding this Saturday, I'm praying that they don't decide to slot it in there now, but the worrying thing (from my perspective of course!) is that it could happen as part of a double header with the Brigids/Clonbullogue replay.

Possibly a bit of an over-exaggeration there, but to a certain extent what you say is true.
Some massive ego's floating around that bunch of lads.
St. Vincents club is very strong at the moment and they are competing at the top end of all the underage championships.
But with the exception of an U-12 crown captured in 2002, I think thats all the club has won in the A-grade. Of course the U-14's won the Feile this year too. With so little silverware gathered in this time since the club was formed (2000), you have to wonder what created such ego's in some of these players. Is it their appearance on county teams so that has created this?
Edenderry deserved their victory last weekend I thought. Vincents had a lot of the ball & kicked some silly wides, but thats the difference between winning & losing.
