It's not a surprise but it's still disappointing. It's obvious that the powers that be really don't give a toss about hurling. It won't affect Kilkenny for obvious reasons - if anything, it suits them to have weaker opposition to swat away as they set out in pursuit of yet another All-Ireland title they feel they have a divine right to win.
The team of the 90's would use this as a motivator - "We'll show them Kilkenny feckers that Offaly can hurl - God Given right my arse" etc .

I think if we get over Laois, that we could have a chance of rattling the cats in the semi for the following reasons;

1. Its not in Croke Park
2. Offaly should have a big attendance given its a double header
3. We have nothing to lose

Failure to put up any sort of a decent game against KK would prove that Offaly hurling deserves to be ranked 10th best team only.

Div 2

Post by Loughers »

We probably deserve to be in Division 2, but whoever tops that Division should be promoted and whoever is bottom of Division 1 should be relegated. F*ck this play off s*ite. As for the championship, I can't remember feeliing so low about one since we won the Leinster hurling in '81.
