With the amount of rain that's meant to fall, faithful fields would be the best option pitchwise, birr under the stand would be very soft.

They won't go double header anyway. I'd say it might be okay - heavy rain is usually only a problem when it's very close to the throw in, or when there's a game going on as it happens and the pitch gets chewed up. If there's 24 hours for it to soak in, chances are it'll be soft, but it'll go ahead in OCP all the same.

OCP and SBP might not be left standing if this wind gets any worse.

Missing Screeney, Cahill, Kiely, Kelly, Duignan, Conneely and Ter Guinan. And perhaps one or two more.
Very best of luck to Ciaran Burke as captain.
And good luck to James Mahon who is making his debut (open to correction).
Ben Miller, Brecon Kavanagh, Ruairi Kelly, DJ McLoughlin and Liam Hoare also could potentially make their debuts from the subs bench.
Hon Offaly!

No correction required, you are correct on James. And on the quintet listed on the bench.

Good team missing a few but good to see James Mahon getting a start his a great bit of stuff lets hope its one of many for him. can't see Dan Ravenhill staying in corner forward forward line looks strong. good to see David Nally back after his injury again Westmeath in last years mcdonagh cup match in tullamore his always worth a few point's from play.
Don't know how strong Carlow are but i don't think there be much in it Carlow won't fear coming to tullamore as they have had offaly's number over the last few year's. i think offaly could win this by 3 or 4 points with the bench helping out.

A bit concerned about this game. We are missing a lot of experience with the likes of Ben, Kiely Einhin Kelly, Duignan all out. And Carlow will be physically strong and very competitive. James Doyle, Chris Nolan and Marty Kavanagh the players to watch/stop from the opposition. Offaly, hopefully, by 3 or 4

Still no team named from Carlow.
What a load of bull that is.
Talk about trying to draw up promotion and excitement ahead of our games and counties can’t even name a team.
Is it mind games that teams do be playing?
It hardly matters that much to the opposition.
Antrim also haven’t named a team to face Dublin, although antics like that are the status-quo with the little egomaniac steering the ship up north.

It's Carlow's business whether they announce a team or not. They're under no obligations to do so.
Antrim never announce teams anyway. That's not a new thing.
I don't see the value in announcing teams a few days before the match anyway. Teams train collectively now, it's not like they find out the team in the local paper.

A draw and a disappointing result.
How many frees did Marty Kavanagh score? Really frustrating to concede so many placed balls.

Ref was very whistle happy for both teams. Very cold day for hurling and striking the ball was off for the first 20 minutes. Both teams had chances to win and neither, I suspect were happy in the end.

Conditions not easy for hurling today yet a decent game was played out.
We had a few good chances to get the extra point needed and unfortunately let them slip.
I do feel a few times we pushed too hard for a goal when a point could have been taken and that's probably what cost us in the end.
