U20 game vs Galway moved to Tuesday April 8th at 7.30 in Ballinasloe. (Why not the Wednesday?)

Senior vs Waterford April 6th
U20 vs Galway April 8th
U20 vs Laois April 12th (Offaly really need to get this game put back 24 hours to April 13th)

As it stands 3 games in 6 days for our U20 players. This is going to take some manoeuvring by the managements. A lot of give and take required. Our new chairman needs to be firm if needs be.

With the 60 hour rule surely the under 20s will not be permitted to play on the 6th and 8th?

Decision made last week to move the u20 to Tuesday night - not sure when it was officially announced (u20 footballers on Wednesday night).

IMO it’s the right call as it gives the seniors full call on the u20’s for the league final and then Leo has full selection for the galway game.

Accept it’s a heavy load on players but that’s where we’re at at the moment.

Championship games only. League final has no bearing.

Massive result in Munster tonight with Limerick beating a star studded Tipp by 2 points.
Tipp team looked even stronger than last year and they sure as hell thought so over on the Tipp GAA forum 😅😅

Limerick were 11/1 with Paddy Power, yes you read that right.

Round robin in Munster so I’m afraid Tipp aren’t gone just yet.

After the round robin in Munster the top team qualifies for the Munster Final.

Teams 2 and 3 meet in a semi-final.

Anything can happen in that semi final as Cork and their 19 wides plus phantom goal can testify from last year.

This grade can be unpredictable. Right now I believe Klare are the team to be most wary of. Almost as good as Offaly in 2022 at minor and they won the minor All Ireland in 2023. Right up with the standard in 2024 at minor too.

Tipp may well recover, but they're not as strong as they think. Their problems start with their goalkeeper, and they were outworked by Limerick this evening.

Tipperary are very strong but are been hampered by negative coaching/style of play.

If we overlook Kilkenny it will be the rock we perish on.

Dublin have produced many decent U20 teams in the recent past including last year's bunch.

Galway should have a barrel load of underage hurlers.

Laois got to the corresponding Leinster minor final 3 years ago.

Wexford outside of 2023 and 2024 have been consistently stronger than us at U20/U21 level for many years.

Leinster is a minefield that I wouldn't even dream of looking beyond.

You can't compartmentalise it like that though.
Management, coaching, tactics are constituents parts of the overall quality of a team.

This particular tipperary team is very good. Minors all champions x2, secondary schools all ireland champions 2025 and very good forwards who don't get the ball delivered to them because of the style of hurling been coached. Lose to cork and I think they are done. Really cut throat in munster. No easy games and hard to find your feet. Think it better in leinster where even if you lose all your matches you still end up in a Q final. You can find your team for that knockout game.

I think Galway are our biggest threat in Leinster.

All Ireland semi-finalists at minor in 2022 and 2024 and beaten finalists in 2023.

As for Munster, I think Clare are the best of them.

All Ireland minor semi-finalists in 2022 and 2024 and champions in 2023.

I don't doubt the quality of the players and I couldn't give a verdict on management.
Last night looked like Limerick gave a classic underdog performance of superior workrate that may have surprised Tipp. Tipp seemed to steady the ship but didn't push ahead and were then vulnerable to a late winner.

I'd expect Tipp to beat Cork and stay in the running. How good Limerick really are will become clearer. Maybe it was a one off performance.

I agree, limerick really worked as a team and gave Tipperary a right kick in the rear

Clare and Cork drew tonight.

Although, there seems to be consensus that Clare were the better team.

Could it be that there’s no standout in Munster this year?
