Is? Who?. GPA reps from frim what I heard are looking at it not before that date. Players will lose grants and can't receive expenses before then.

Players will be working away on their own gym programs.private joker wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2024 11:52 am Is? Who?. GPA reps from frim what I heard are looking at it not before that date. Players will lose grants and can't receive expenses before then.
They may meet up in groups to conduct running sessions.
Only kidding ourselves if we think that other counties aren’t training - Donegal footballers trained 8 (eight!) times a week from the start of last November onwards. Trained twice a day on Tuesday and Thursday, once a day every other day with Saturday’s gracefully off.
The hurlers also have their holiday at the start of December I believe.

Players doing gym work is a given, meeting for runs also. But no county will meet as a collective group before 7th of December for on field training

Re: Offaly Minor Hurling 2024
Fair play to Ferbane for pulling off a massive upset didnt make the game.
Re: Offaly Minor Hurling 2024
Ferbane fully deserved the win better touch better strike better forwards . Very disappointing performance from Tullamore I was expecting more but they are only young lads so can’t be too critical. They have regressed the last 2 yrs in Hurling which is disappointing.
They play again next week in the football which will be a good game

Been a while but signs are good
Re: Offaly Minor Hurling 2024
Minor B final
Crc/Coolderry 7-18 Clara/ Brosna Gaels 3-13.
A great win for CRCC who were by far the better team. Some strong hurlers all over the field in vital positions. Clara / Brosna Gaels hurled well for a 10 or 15 minute patch in the first half and could of had another goal or 2 but didn’t make it count and CRCC came out a different animal after half time.

Re: Offaly Minor Hurling 2024
Two very contrasting games in St Brendan's Park, Birr today.
The first, a real goal fest that remained competitive until the early stages of the second half when CRCC really took control of the game. Credit to Clara/Brosna Gaels who fought bravely throughout even when the result was beyond them, with Tadgh Mc Grath's free taking, James Mc Kenna's aerial ability, along with their inside lines early eye of goal all worth a mention. Three players really stood out from a CRCC perspective, Evan McEvoy, finishing with a second half hat-trick, along with Joey Mc Loughney's tenacity and general ability at the heart of the CRCC defence. Andrew Hogan gave another tour-de-force however, finishing with a personal tally of 2-11. His score taking, distribution, speed of thought, physical ability and industriousness were very impressive, and as Offaly supporters, it will be exciting to watch his development over the coming years as he has real star quality and will undoubtedly be a part of the Offaly U20's All Ireland defence next season.
A very different game emerged in the Minor A final between KK and Ferbane/Belmont. KK started brightly establishing an early lead before Ferban/Belmont gained a foothold thanks to their shear willingness to put their bodies on the line. Their work rate really snuffed out a lot of KK's key players, with the game really becoming a battle of attrition. In the second half both sides exchanged scores but it's Ferbane/Belmont whole have more regrets having spurned a number of chances to draw level or take the lead. KK hit a purple patch heading down the stretch to seal the win, but not before late late drama which almost saw KK being pipped at the death. For Ferbane Niall Flynn and Eamon Maher were very solid in defence, as was Luke Healy. Eoghan O'Neill and James Wren worked tirelessly in midfield, while up front Rory Dunican looks a real classy player with incredible timing and hang time in the air, with Rurai Woods speed and tenacity posing a real threat to KK. A very special mention to Nathan Kelly, whose genius pick up with his feet in the 19th minute, his late late goal which brought F/B back into contention, his general skillset and strength, and of course his glorious flowing red mullet all living long in the memory!
For KK Jack O'Donoghue was very solid despite having his hands full. Sean Cleary performed very well also at corner back. Sean Gill was instrumental to KK's win during the second half, as was Oisin Carroll's sweeping and ability to read the game. Brian Guinan all round ability, speed and work rate were critical for KK, as was Macdara Mitchell who made a telling contribution towards the end of the game. Fiachra Carroll excels beyond his years, having lead the way for KK's U15 side on their run to this years county final at that grade. However, when KK needed a leader, and for a player to take the game by the scruff of the neck, Odhran Fletcher stood tallest. Despite being tightly marshalled throughout his free taking was flawless, he scored some excellent points from play, chipped over a lovely first half side line cut, and generally lead the way for his side to ultimately deliver another Minor A championship for KK. Odhran really stood out this year for the Offaly Minor side and also looks destined to be a crucial player in Brian Carroll's Offaly Minor side of 2025, and has all the makings of a future Offaly senior in due course.

Re: Offaly Minor Hurling 2024
Bad loss for the A schools hurling team following on from a defeat for the footballers last week at the same level.
Lot of cistercian lads involved, is their a policy of only picking offaly players for this team or is it any student from anywhere that attends an offaly school a la a boarder at cistercian? Anyone know the form line or expectations around this team?

Form lines are simple last years minors struggled...add next years who are apparently around the same level that's what you get unfortunately

It does seem that once the 2025 U20’s finish their campaign we will return to where our underage standing was pre their arrival to national prominence in 2022.greenairfield wrote: ↑Sat Nov 16, 2024 3:19 am Form lines are simple last years minors struggled...add next years who are apparently around the same level that's what you get unfortunately
