Down and Dublin to enter second teams in the Nicky Rackard

This was announced there a few days ago.

I thought it was very interesting how the two teams were selected - both on the grounds of tapping into non-hurling areas in the county, and no senior players on either team (South Dublin and outside of Ards).

I wonder how widely this was promoted, and if there would be any enthusiasm for something similar in Offaly? It strikes me as a reasonably positive idea and maybe some way of fostering enthusiasm across a whole county......I wonder did our delegates investigate something along these lines?

A team made up of everywhere east of Ballycumber seems like a reasonably good idea is all. Any thoughts?

I really like it. Might breath a little life into those who never thought they'd wear the jersey. Would be interested to see if players would be up for it.
