Where is Doon GAA?
I know it's somewhere in the N/W area of the county.
What would be the directions fron Tullamore?

Directions from Tullamore is simple enough. Come out of Tullamore, on to Clara and then Ballycumber. Follow the road through the village of Ballycumber, past the village itself and towards Ferbane until you come to the corner where the road veers left but you can "turn" straight on, beside Flynns (?) pub. Take that "turn", and keep going for about five or six miles (slow driving mind, very windy road) until you'll eventually come out at Doon, which is basically a crossroads on the N62. Ferbane will be signed to the left, Athlone to the right, and you keep going straight. The pitch is about 200 yards down that road on the left hand side.

Thanks for that fellas!!

My Collins Roadmap calls it Togher, so I went to mapquest.com and zoomed in to the area, and lo and behold isn't it called Doon there!

Remember in the bank panic arcade game - you're a sherrif in a bank and loads of lads come to the doors - some drop in money but some are bad lads and try to shoot you! Anyways, sometimes someone plants a bomb on one of the doors and you have to go and shoot the bomb off the door. If you don't make it on time before the bomb goes off - you lose a life - your lad gets blown up and DOOON! is written up on the screen.

I'm not making it up folks!

Flynn's is correct LS. I'm surprised you were in some doubt about that one...surely this was on the Victory Route home in years gone by?

Flynns is a traditional Doon stopping point on the way home from Tullamore, nothing to do with the baskets of chips that may or may not be passed around :P
Think the Ferbanites might frequent also.

Nah, Gavin's was always the Ferbane stop. God help you, you might run into Doon people once you go out into the suburbs towards Flynns....

Have Flynn's installed a Budweiser beer tap yet or are they still serving cans?

An outright ban on Budweiser would be better.
Make them all drink Harp instead!
