Okay, we had the Ken Casey affair earlier in the year, which can be put down to human error. Now would somebody like to explain why we're now going to Central Council complaining about the new hurling league structure rather than when it came out? (Other than the obvious - because we're the ones in trouble!!)
Surely when this structure was being put in place, somebody somewhere had a chance to read the text of what was being suggested, and, one would assume, had the chance to think about what that meant to our own county team. Perhaps they thought it was a good idea anyway. I would disagree, but as elected representatives that's their prerogative - however the actions of the last week suggest that's not the case.
Maybe this new structure was voted on by some sub-committee and we never got a chance to vote on it? If that's the case surely this should be pointed out.
Or maybe - and I truly hope not - maybe someone read this, just thought to themselves that Offaly are the ninth best team, ergo we'll be okay, tick the box and move on. If that is the case this was extremely naive. Speaking from a betting point of view, we were odds on to finish second bottom, with the nature of the fixtures this year. We had three away ties, with only one home fixture against the big teams. We were always likely to be in this situation.
Dublin may have messed things up by winning in Limerick, but can we honestly say that we would have beaten the Dubs?
Somebody here appears to have been negligent, much more so than in the Ken Casey case. Fair play to Christy Todd, he put his hand up and acknowledged error the last time, which is all any supporter could or should ask for. However this is a much bigger error, and I for one can't imagine how it came about.
Any ideas? Treasurer, you're usually good for this stuff....

I hear 5 players have been dropped from the senior football panel following sundays match against Ros... Can somebody fill us in on this.
I also heard, Jason Kelly, Colm Quinn, Rory Guinan & Trevor Phelan have been called back into the panel.
I don't know where these rumours originate just wondering if there is any truth to this.

Midfield is struggling, backs are porous and we call in four forwards? Something not quite making sense about that story.Hocker wrote:I hear 5 players have been dropped from the senior football panel following sundays match against Ros... Can somebody fill us in on this.
