Under 21 club championship

Post by borderfox »

U 21 H.C.

Kilcormac/K. v Coolderry Og Kilcormac 3.00p.m. M.Kirwan

St. Marys v St. Sarans Ballyskenagh 3.00p.m. T.Carroll

Ceann Eitigh/ Seir Kieran v Drumcullen Kinnitty 3.00p.m. D.Cooke

Very early start for the hurling this year, id say K/K, Sarans< and Ceann eitigh? Seir keiran should win these matches.

K/K have all of last years winning minor team and add to that Sadler,Slevin,Lee and Grogan. they`l be hard beaten. Coolderry og (killavilla) have RAy Murray and Cathal parlon and others like Hall, bergin and Masterson but not strong enough all round.

St. Marys (shinrone/ballyskenagh) have mark Morkam,2 o`mearas,Beavans and Timmy Hennessy. Saran`s (belmont/lusmagh) have David Kenny,Alan Egan(aswel as their younger brothers) and last years minor goalkeeper Eoin kelly.Saran`s should be strong enough to win.

Ceann eitigh/ Seir Keiran should defeat drumcullen. Joe Bergin,Stephan Molloy, Coughlan and Kealey should have enough for a physicaly tough drumcullen team.Drumcullen will be relying on Joe Troy, John Cashen and David Spain.

any views on these match`s?

On paper K/K look very decent in this grade, but then they usually do. I would suspect that realistically only themselves and Birr could hope to upset Rynagh's in this competition - certainly my gut feeling as a bookie is that it would be 16/1 bar those in this competition. (Even Birr/Brendan's look a little light but having said that they have a very nice draw).

Top of my head I'd say K/K by six, Kinn/Clareen to win handy, maybe by eight or nine, and absolutely feck all in the other one. If anything I'd make the South Offaly lads slight favourites, home advantage being all there is between them.

Are these games Saturday or Sunday? If its Saturday I can go, haven't managed to make a game at all yet this year with there being games on TV all the time. Sunday would also clash with the county footballers, so hopefully........

Lusmagh/Belmont v Shinrone/Ballyskenagh

From the Lusmagh side of the combination, Eoin Kelly, Ciaran & Paul Bermingham, Brian Larkin, Adrian Lynch, Alan Glynn & David Kelly all hurled against Coolderry in last years senior quarter final. Eoin Quinlan & David Hogan were prominent juniors.

While merging adjoining clubs can have its own difficulties, it's even more difficult to combine two clubs who aren't neigbours and who wouldn't have attended school together.
