My take on it is simple moorfield won because they were a bigger physical team the day suited them and they got every break going. Deserved there win but I do belive Rhode are the best club team in leinster and if both teams met mid summer the better footballers would of won, Rhode. counts for nothing now but hey what can you do.

Is it just me or is this just a typical Kildare reaction to winning?
It is almost like they are so aware that they have one of the biggest football pools to pick from in Leinster with the second biggest finances to draw on and still consistently perform below par. It is almost like the relief of actually achieving what they should reasonably achieve brings out the worst in the most crowing disliked supporters in Leinster.
Give me the Dubs any day. At least you can have a laugh with them.

I just want to have it known that as a "recreational" poster and viewer of this forum I admire greatly all Lone Sharks input, be it hardline or otherwise. Were it not for him this would be a rather dull forum altogether. Keep up the great work.
And as for that Moorefield muppet, he should should rev up and shag off out of this forum, a place where he does not belong.

I just have to give my 2 pence worth. I personally am i huge admirer and reader of this forum. i enjoy the fact that loneshark and others call things as they see it. Calling a spade a spade. It makes for lively debates and interesting articles and no sitting on the fence. I personally have made a few bob off some of Lonesharks tips, so i for one know he usually gets it right! Loneshark is one of the best, most diplomatic and fair contributors on this website, so the B*****t that fool from Moorefield is spouting has no relevance and i think we shud just ignore an idiot like that. I dont think any of us would begrudge Moorefield their Leinster title, on the day they were better team, simple as that. So before that Muppet interupts this site again, i justed wanted to let off a little bit of steam!

It is typical of Kildare people to gloat their victories and never let it lie till they're beaten. But to make those comments to Lone Shark, thats uncall for. He obviously doesn't realise the knowledge of this man.
LS is keeps this forum the way it is, by keeping up the standard of discussion to a high level and making valid points and giving excellent tips. But for someone to arrive onto this site and hurdle accusations at the man, its not needed!

Votes of confidence greatly appreciated, however my apologies if it came across as a cry for validation. Rest assured I have no notions of grandeur about my ramblings, they are far from being particularly insightful.
This just hit a nerve, on two fronts -
(1) I hate this culture of needing to be "written off" to find motivation. I don't like it in sport and I certainly don't like it in Offaly GAA. Possibly part of the reason why we have wobbled so much against teams we should beat in the qualifiers in recent years? I understand this was a Kildare team using it, but it's just something I hate.
(2) Debate by nitpicking and exaggeration. Even after the game, there was no case for why the crux of the argument - that Rhode had more scoring in them - was wrong. It's classic strawman argument...
Person A has position X, supported by arguments 1 (strongest), 2 (mediocre), and 3 (weakest).
Person B refutes arguement 3 only, ignoring arguments 1 and 2.
Person B declares position X flawed based solely on his refuting of argument 3.
But today I am a lot calmer than the previous few days. So it's all good.

Lone Shark you is the man!!...we all got our predictions for the match on sunday wrong....honestly thought Rhode would win it.The fact that they didnt is what makes sport exciting and enjoyable to watch...you never know whats going to happen. How boring would sport be if the favourites romped home every time???....No doubt the better team won on the day but its madness to suggest that the weather conditions didnt play a part in the outcome of the game. Some teams play better on dry ground, others play better on the high bog!...its a fact of life!....

Can't believe your man from Moorefield is still banging on. Has he no friends to talk to? Also has he not noticed practically every other post congratulating Moorefield on their historic win? Nobody likes losing, so to lose with good grace is admirable. It's a whole lot easier to be magnanimous in victory, you'd think. Someone who can't do that is to be pitied.

Lone Shark was right in his preview to say that 'when this game is dissected and stripped down to the bare bones, Rhode should win'. The only problem is that in making a statement like that, you assume the players will perform to their full porential. The simple fact is that Rhode did not on Sunday. While the weather was a factor, it wasn't decisive. Two of Moorefield's goals (the second penalty & the third goal) came directly from Rhode mistakes while the Village never looked like breaking down the Moorefield full back line. Also when Moorefield were playing against the wind, they had no difficulty in walking the ball out of their own half under little or no pressure. With the exception of four or five of the team, Rhode's players simply did not perform anywhere near their best while it was difficult to pick out a Moorefield player who looked seriously off form. They did deserve their win simple as that. As for Moorefield man, this is a quote from Lone Shark ahead of the Leinster Championship game with Kildare
"In recent years we've a very good record against Kildare as well and on the face of it there's not reason why that shouldn't continue."
Seems he got that one right......
