Rhode v UCD

Post by naasmanxrhode »

Good tough game, with Rhode hanging on to win by a POINT. Cold conditions, pitch was in a good state. Rhode could not have started any better and were 2-02 to 0-01 after 10 minutes. Point for point after that with both sides missing good chances. UCD took over for the first 20 mins of second half and clawed their way back. Good defence from RHODE saved the day and roll on the Leinster final.

Every chance for them to win this now, though Moorefield will be a dogged challenge assuming that works out. Some craic in the general area if they end up playing Tyrellspass though - am I right in saying that those are bordering clubs?

Offhand I can't remember that ever happening before, bordering clubs playing a provincial final.

Good win for Tubber yesterday I see - got by Fingal by a point - I'm guessing there wasn't anyone at this?

Croghan would be the nearest border club to Tyrrellspass

Yeah it was nailbiting stuff in the second half for sure, and as an OFFALY man it was a great thrill to see our county champions progress to the Leinster final. I must say, as I came out of Parnell park last Sunday, I felt as proud for RHODE as I did for OFFALY last summer in our impressive march to the Leinster final. Finally what about that magnificent point from Niall McNamee in the second half, well worth the admission price alone.
