Lots of questions to be asked if it is true but couple of people have suggested it could be happening in last fortnight or at least someone may be trying..........

I certainly do not. This has been mentioned to me by three people in last fortnight - maybe it is an untrue rumour. I just asked a question regarding its validity. To best of my knowledge, this is a forum for discussion of Offaly GAA issues and if a recent senior manager, who was removed by senior players, is put back in as a minor manager within weeks of removal from seniors, it certainly would be a story of interest to most Offaly football people.

An update on the underage hurling championships that are currently ongoing.

Under 14 A - Final: Kilcormac/Killoughey vs SBK. K/K look to be favourites here having beaten SBK in the group stage by 9 points. SBK played 4 games in the group and only won one game so they have regrouped well to make the final. Having won all of their group games Birr will be very disappointed to have lost to SBK in the semi final this evening.

Under 14 B - The Offaly website is not clear here but it seems DSK and Shamrocks drew tonight in a semi final and the winners will play Tullamore in the final.

Under 14 C - Final: Kinnitty/Lusmagh vs Clara. They have been the stand out teams in this grade with both teams having won all their games by nearly 20 points on average.

Under 16 A - Semi Finals: Ballinmere/Durrow vs St Rynaghs
Kilcormac/Killoughey vs Shamrocks

Ballinamere/Durrow look the most likely winners but this championship is absoutley wide open.

Under 16 B - Group stage is ongoing but by all accounts it seems the following will be in place:
Semi Finals: Kinnitty/Lusmagh vs Na Fianna
Edenderry vs CRCC
A Kinnitty/Lusmagh vs Edenderry final looks likely. They drew in the group stage so not much between them but Joe Furey should swing the odds in Edenderry's favour.

Minor A - The group stage is still ongoing but the 4 semi finalists are known. Kilcormac/Killoughey, Tullamore, Ferbane/Belmont and Birr. The final looks likely to be between K/K and Tullamore who drew with each other in the group stage.

Minor B - Semi Final: Kinnitty/Lusmagh vs Gracefield
CRCC or Clara/Brosna Gaels vs Ballinamere/Durrow or Na Fianna.
The big surprise here was Edenderry being comfortably beaten by Gracefield at the weekend. Edenderry had easily won their group while Gracefield had only picked up one win in the group stage. A wide open championhsip here. A very hesitant nod to Ballinamere/Durrow.

Minor C - Final: Kilcormac/Killoughey(2) vs SBK.
K/K's 2nd team should just about get over the line here.

Was at the Rynaghs game last night and they looked strong. Big team too for that age group, very strong down the middle. I’m hearing that Shamrocks are very good albeit I haven’t seen them this year.

Should be a good final.

Top team at this age are shamrocks, tullamore, kk and rynaghs. B/D somehow got to semi final.
Shamrocks would be ranked no1 . This team would be Feile champions also last year.

Tullamore lost to Birr by 8 points and Ballinamere/Durrow by 3 in the group stages.
They lost to Rynaghs by 4 in the quarter final.
Shamrocks only beat Ferbane/Belmont/Shannonbridge by a point in the quarter final.
Shamrocks beat Ryanghs by 7 in the group stages.

It seems like 5-6 teams are operating at a similar enough level which is a good sign of an underage championship.

It was U13 (3 years ago) before it was changed to even year groups and Shamrocks beat Tullamore in the final by a point. They beat Ballinamere in the Semi that year.

I would tend to agree its a very even championship but saying that u14 and minor are much the same.
