It's probably over-simplifying things, but I'd be confident enough that our backs will hold their own. Ben Conneely and Killian Sampson are in great form, you have Ciarán Burke, Ruairí Kelly and James Mahon all getting closer to returning, and Liam Hoare will give us every chance behind that.

But up front, things have to get much better. Regardless of the quality of opponent, one goal in six league games is dire, and that's what needs to change. That's why I would say that in the likely ongoing absence of Charlie Mitchell, that yeah, a huge amount rests on the shoulders of Brian Duignan and Oisín Kelly. It's all very well to look at the talent of Daniel Bourke and Adam Screeney, but it's Kelly and Duignan that are a goal threat, they have the power and strength to match up with Dublin and break a tackle, and given that I think three goals is the magic number that will put us in with a chance, then you're looking at this duo to either score or create at least two of those.

Ability not in question in either case, just need to find a bit of form.

Saw Dublin a few weeks ago and I think it’s very important we push up on them and don’t give them the short puc out option. They’re very good at working it out and support running, that’s their game, so I think our forwards need to work like dogs and make everything into a right battle.
Agree with LS I would have concerns about the forwards, we’re just not scoring enough from play, and goals are like hens teeth! Charlie Mitchell is a huge loss obviously, but nice to see him doing some media duties with Off The Ball for the start of the Leinster Championship, and he sounded hopeful he might be back soon. Play Oisin in close to goal, he is our main goal threat (albeit not his best form so far this year), and I hope we play Dan Ravenhill in the half forwards, we need his physical presence up there. Hopeful enough that if we perform to our best we can get a win: a big step up from league form is needed, but Offaly teams have been well capable of stepping it up for championship in the past.

Very good at working the ball out? Dublin , against good opposition are not good at working the ball out. In a podcast there during the week pat ryan said just let Dublin have the ball and they'll give it away as they try to work it out. They are a step ahead of offaly, not world beater but better than offaly.

I like the look of the team and the bench has good options too.
Playing the best in the the league will benefit Offaly.

I see Dublin are 1/8 and it's understandable that they're warmish favourites, but I would be disappointed if Offaly aren't close to them coming into the last 10.

Playing and winning games in 1B will stand to Dublin more than Offaly's 1A adventures this year.
It's 47 weeks since the Offaly senior hurlers won a game.
1 goal in 6 league matches is a massive concern.
There is going to be a huge gap in physicality tomorrow evening which will be a huge factor.
Our main forwards are struggling for form.
All this points to only one outcome.
Let's hope I'm reading this completely wrong....it's hard to shake the pessimism with the current state of the footballers so I'm more glass half empty at the moment!
Anyways let's try get a big crowd in.....the tickets are reasonable and the weather to be slightly better than last Saturday night which is a bonus.

Kudos to the Leinster Council on their ticket pricing strategy.

€15 for a terrace ticket is fantastic value.

As a point of reference a Munster championship terrace tickets is €30.

Right about Dublin having a physical advantage over Offaly in tonight’s game BB.
John Hetherton is a big physical presence in the forward line. The visitors are favourites to win. Offaly down the years found Dublin a hard side to beat, I believe Johnny Kelly’s men are the more skilful hurlers, but will need to raise a couple of green flags tonight.
Best of luck to our lads for the game hoping we upset the pundits, including a certain former Cork star.

What is so special that Munster charge twice the price than Leinster for the terrace, hype?
