Suspect acl for Shirley it's been reported. Not 100% confirmed

Pretty hard for Michael Duignan to twist all these injuries back onto the clubs.

If an ACL injury for Donal is confirmed, then this really is a grievous blow. He’s one of our best players.
My oh my, both panels have really been cursed with injuries this year. It’s desperately unfortunate.

I’m sure if we tracked the inter county training and match load of these players over the last number of years (both underage and senior) sports science might not definitively agree that these injuries are unfortunate.

I’m sure you’re not a sports scientist and that any conjecture about the injuries, cause or otherwise, is nothing more than idle uninformed speculation.

Idle uninformed speculation that usually has its genesis in what the poster thinks about the management, county board etc and is looking for a cause célèbre for that view point.

Club leagues swinging in again this weekend.
Any idea how teams are shaping up?

Dublin very poor in 1st half but came close to winning it in the 2nd albeit undeserved if they had snuck a win. Big game vs the dubs coming up.

Dublin were poor for long spells of the first half, but they were against the wind and Clare allowed them to play keep ball for long periods. Only for the few mins before half time, Dublin would have happily went in 5-6 points down with no hurling done.
But still a lot of Dublin’s decision making was baffling - for a team (and county) built on short passing, possession and running through the lines, they pucked a lot of aimless ball down under the stand. They also vacated the far wing for puckouts and overloaded this side, which suggested they would hit the space for an inside forward coming out (as Limerick did), but they kept hitting ball down onto the overloaded side where they were outnumbered.
They were without Burke and the Currie brothers, probably 3 of their top performers, so they won’t be too displeased. Not sure if they’re fit for 2 weeks time.

Our old friend Shane Hynes from the Minor final of 2022 has been roundly criticised for his refereeing in the 1A final.

Do we have any predictions on a starting 15?

Great to have championship this week. Not incredibly optimistic on how we will do and not sure who is available and not.

But anyways:

Liam Hoare, Brecon Kavanagh, Ben Conneely Ross Ravenhill, Ter Guinan, Killian Sampson, Cathal King, Dan Ravenhill, Oisin Kelly, Dan Burke, Brian Duignan and Adam Screeney all looked nailed on to start. 3 more positions to fill in.

i don't think johnny kelly even knows his starting 15 there a bit like the footballers haven't won a game in the league players missing out injured. we should have beaten them last year in parnell park but offaly i think have gone back a bit from last year. Dubs back up to division 1 ran clare to 3 points in the final. bar we hurl out of our skins and some players particular the forwards click i can't see anything than a dublin victory . a lot saying they weren't great again clare lets not forget they beat limerick with 14 men last years quarter final. heart says offaly head says the dub's .

How will we do at the weekend?

Dubs won't be simple.

I'd expect a Dublin win unfortunately unless we hit the back of the net at least twice, which I can't see based on league form.

Our forwards in general are not in great form this year I.e Duignan, Kelly, Bourke.

Think Dublin are too experienced and will knock in 2/3 goals and win comfortably... I really hope I'm wrong but that's the way I see it playing out.

Would prefer to see K Sampson wing forward also but won't happen now with Shirley's injury.
