Great effort .....imagine adding Flynn , furlong , Bryant , bracken , Higgins and paddy to to that panel today .....anyone any idea on a timescale for injured lads ?? Amazing how straight away just having Dillon back made such a difference.....sport will always be about the players on the pitch

The persistence in playing a player from Dublin who from what iv seen is a very average club player over Harry Plunkett a proven scorer and one of the players we posses who can kick from distance is gone beyond a joke now
How Marcus Dalton was dropped too after probably his best performance this year against Tyrone.
Make no mistake about it either these 2 lads were dropped.
In such a tight match those 2 players alone could and probably would have gotten us over the line if they were started
Much improved today. Lot more positive, though Cavan are no world beaters. Few observations. McDaid needs to start for championship. Could've won but for bad start and terrible end to 1st half. Tried hard in 2nd half to be fair and maybe with us being generally small, playing into wind and carrying ball is something we are good at.

Hyland back is major boost. Point taking throughout was massive. Tierney back adds a lot too compared to what we've had so far in league. Leavy growing as a player. Jordan Hayes is a serious inter county footballer now.

How Plunkett could've been dropped is beyond me. Our best or 2nd best forward since he came into league team in 3rd game. He was perfectly suited for 14 in 1st half with that wind. Was he injured or is there some other issue or what? It is just mind boggling to me. I didn't see Dalton last day, but by all accounts he did well. Look management have to make decisions with Hyland and McDaid back. It's understandable if that explains Dalton omission but Murphy in ahead of Plunkett is just bizarre to say the least.

A strong performance v Meath will hopefully build confidence for Laois game.

Wow. Did you watch the first half? That's a poor cavan team who thought game was over at half time.. why did Harry plunket not start? Has he not been our best forward last few games? 6 defeats in a row with minus 53 scores and we finding positives? There was about 200 supporters from offaly there, Yes a better 2nd half performance but We should be beaten Cavan at home. They were on the bus home at half time that's what happened

Snotser is definitely Kevin Corrigan or some little similar brown noser of Deck Kelly anyways.

Lost all our games and still defends him to the high noons. Harry Plunkett arguably our only shining light up front in a bad campaign, because Kelly hates him. Do your history. This goes back to Plunkett going on a family holiday when he was minor/u20, and Kelly still holds it against him like the petty bollux he is.

Hyland & Tierney always gonna improve the side.
But I agree with a comment made earlier here. This team is badly, badly hamstrung by the current management team.

First thing I have to say thanks for the players effort today I was at the Carlow London game last night
The London management were spot on.
Today ours were somewhere on the birr
Road fixing a puncture
I feel sorry for Melia he was badly exposed today
Kelly has to go simple
To be honest the size of the crowd said enough
Give Mickey Harte the rest of season
We may as well get use for the. Money
Take care

DK is getting well paid to I'd say.. the problem with kelly (Snotser and 1 or 2 others are only who don't see it) he holds a grudge against certain players and possibly clubs to which is of no benefit to the county. We should of won today, facts are we wernt prepared in first half, plunket not starting was a big surprise, our kick outs were slow, our movement for frees was as bad, truth is cavan could of had 2 or 3 more goals in first half. We were very loose in the back line, we had about 200 offaly supporters there today. I commend the players for fighting hard in 2nd half but when u loose supporters it's truly time for a change somewhere.

The same arguments are being hashed out and will accomplish nothing. The fact is, there will be no managerial change until the end of the year, barring something out of the ordinary. People have to get used to that. No point in name-calling on this and pointing fingers at posters.

Criticism is a different story and it is certainly warranted. Today, we got two of our key forwards back in the team but there are still some really baffling choices. I agree with other posters regarding Plunkett and Furlong getting dropped. A crazy decision, especially when we have gone back to the tried and tested idea of Murphy in full forward, which has not worked at all this year. R Egan back to wing forward again. The result is both of them being whipped off at half time. I don’t feel we are putting our lads in the best positions to succeed, if all of us can see that these won’t work, why can’t management? How are other squad members feeling when they see these decisions being made.

The 2 goals were poor, but I wouldn’t criticise Melia too much. He probably wasn’t expecting to play much this year and was very much thrown into the deep end. If he wants to rival Dunican for the goals, who is our most crucial loss in my eyes, he is going to have to develop his frame and physique to be able to jump with opposition forwards.

Hopefully a good performance against Meath will allow us to go into championship with a bit of momentum.

Shocking how Murphy keeps getting picked?
I’ve said it earlier, injuries aside , decisions like this are the impossible to figure.

Was in at that game yesterday.
First things first, two lads back added more hunger and flare to our attacking side. We are still poor in the defence Cavan sailed in far too easy for the majority of there scores apart from us attacking we have to get better in defence , cant understand why we would be defending the weak side of the pitch and leaving big holes for Teams to attack into ? Is that the coach or the managers coaching that ?. Let's not be kidding ourself either Cavan we're shocking poor as well and things up there not going well either. Where was our Captain yesterday no sign of him there at all.

I was reliably informed that Marty Morrissey made a comment on the radio re the low attendance of 625 supporters also. For a Div 2 game, it is quite shocking really. It is most disappointing to be honest, particularly with a lot on the line yesterday and the fact that Cavan outnumbered us is fairly damning of the feelings of the support base currently. The players to be fair to all of them from nos 1 - 24 are doing their best, irrespective of what anyone says of their abilities or otherwise. However, the general supporters are clearly voting with their feet. Hopefully a bigger crowd will come out to support v Meath.

it is impossible to figure out how Murphy makes this squad and is generally picked on the first 15.
Offaly played well enough especially in the second half, should have scored 2 more goals. The goals scored by Cavan were terrible for the Offaly keeper and how the last 2 pointer for Cavan was allowed to stand when everyone in the stand could see that it was a wide, a pity, because the team deserved a first win. Hyland and Tierney made some difference and if we could get a few more back we could trouble Meath. Finally our keeper is a big loss, hope he's back for championship

Plunkett was a very strange call, alright. Niall Furlong being left out wasn't a surprise, though. He hasn’t offered a whole lot yet, but he’s getting great experience, and being played out of position certainly hasn’t helped him.

I still think we’ll beat Laois and give Kildare a right good game in the Championship
