Tipsters Comp Round Up!!

Post by Lone Shark »

And so it concludes, with Plain of the Herbs securing the 2006 league by the narrowest of margins from yours truly, largely down to his spectacular calling of last weeks draw in the hurling. He takes over the crown from Seán Boyle Ó'Rathallaigh and adds his name to the overall winners roster.

Fullback is another who adds his name to the winners roster, closing out the Daithi Regan Cup Final by a final margin of 14-7. The size of the gap gap was largely down to ManFromFerbane having to do some chasing this week with some specualtive picks, but the heroic effort of Joe Brady in the drawn final made all the difference.

The McCormack Cup remains up in the air, now tied at 10-10 after two legs. Rynagh's Biffo, looking to retain his crown, went for the favourites across the card in the match results and got three out of three, but only called one of the extra specials, while yours truly made some awful match picking, but the trio of Ryan, Carroll and McNamee made up the points to bring it to a replay this week. Having been runner up in the last two league titles, the pressure will be on Uibhfhaili.com's waffler-in-chief in order to avoid a reputation as a perennial choker at the business end of matters in these competitions...

I'll see what games are on this weekend, but barring the cupboard is completely bare, I'll use the intermediate final and flesh it out with a few others.

I'm going to try and avoid tie breaks if at all possible!

I feel like I should make a speech or something. "Ta an áthas orm an corn seo a glachadh . . ." :D

"Three cheers for the runners- up . . . Hip Hip . . ." :)

I owe it all to Gary Hanniffy and his last gasp equaliser. I had some serious ground to make up and I went for broke tipping the draw in the hurling final. Shure it wouldn't be an Offaly win if it didn't involve some bizarre comeback-from-the-dead scenario!

Lastly, thanks to the Shark for facilitating the comp during the domestic season.

To be fair, bearing in mind the competition it was, there'd be questions to answer if it wasn't an Offaly win......
