Happy enough with the result and they never gave up, I think they pulled the lead back to a point on a few occasions but without ever really looking like winning it.

Liam Hoare was very impressive in goals. Thought Ben Miller was excellent throughout. Pat Taffe did ok too. Cathal king was very good too I thought.

The forwards were poor though. Maybe the poor surface didn’t help. Adam looked sharp albeit a few times he got caught behind his man and or not showing in time. Albeit Mickey butler is a good hurler.

Could have been well behind at half time, got very very little from the half forward line and couldn’t believe that Ravenhill and Doyle lasted the full 70.
Screeney best I’ve seen him hurl in quite a while.
Dan Bourke was quiet.
Pitch very heavy.
As with Kilcormac and Ballyhale, Eoin Cody the only difference.
Ross Ravenhill has got nearly two full games and i don't think he touched twice in both games. Dan at wing back ain't working either his like a fish out of water. good to see Ciaran Cleary in there hope he gets more than two mintues again tipp. Breacon Kavangh hurl well Ben Connelly outstanding along with Ben Millar . Screeney was great got some great points and i think a dry day he will do damage. kilkenny were missing a few but there best outside of Mullen are in there late 30's.

I thought the full back line was excellent and thought King got through a mountain of work. I am with you really not sure how Ross Ravenhill is getting so much game time hes not good enough for that level and even with the injuries we have better options.

Hopefully the rain keeps coming so we can make it difficult for tipp.

I counted at least 4 or 5 frees given away by Ross which is crazy for a wing forward

A total of twenty seven Offaly players took part in one or both of the All Ireland Under 20 hurling finals in 2023 and 2024. Twenty three of these are currently involved with the Offaly senior panel. One other would more than likely be involved but has opted to represent his county in Gaelic football.

This is a phenomenal progression rate from underage to senior and I doubt if it's ever been equalled anywhere.

It is testament to the quality, commitment and ambition of these young hurlers and management's belief in them.

Read the report on the42 on thr UL game. Adam played the full game and scored 2 points but it didn’t mention him much in the report.

Couldn’t find anything on the NUIG game

I was there (and wet), Adam was replaced after 45 minutes after taking a shoulder knock. Didn't seem too bad at the time, but we'll know more on Sunday. He was going well in a tough and physical game, linked up well with Darragh McCarthy for a few scores.

No Offaly involvement in the Mary I/UCD game which I was at as well before it, UCD were dreadful. Peter McDonald of Kilkenny was the only one who emerged with credit on their side, but that Oisín O'Farrell lad (Limerick) looks like the real deal.

No Donal Shirley for DCU so presumably the quad issue still a problem there, Sam Bourke played the full game at corner back. Pat Taaffe, Liam Hoare and Daniel Bourke all hurled the full match for University of Galway (no Charlie Mitchell) in their win over SETU Waterford, where Cathal King was midfield. If there was anybody in Dangan, they'd give a better appraisal of how that went.

In the football, very few Offaly lads left going into last night, none now. Maynooth were the only one of the eight with any Offaly players, they also had Aidan Minnock and George Digan in their management . The only one who saw action was Harry Plunkett. Started well with the first score of the game but wasn't as involved as he would have liked after that and was withdrawn midway through the second half. Fionn Dempsey and Geordi O'Meara listed on the panel but if they were togged, they didn't get on the pitch.

Would be interested to see if there are any featuring in the Freshers quarters tonight. Jake Maher is definitely involved with ATU Galway and you'd have to imagine that TUS Midlands might have a couple, they're meant to be decent, playing Dundalk at half seven in Athlone. If anybody has any insight, please share!
Kevin Egan. Signed out of respect for players and all involved with Offaly.

Patrick Kenna is on the TUS midlands freshers team was carrying a knock so not sure if he is starting tonight but has been starting . They have a strong team this year apparently not sure of any more Offaly involvement

Adam Fox the only other offaly man on the TUS team. Micheal Kelly and Kaelum Bryan lost to UCC yesterday whist representing TUD
